We cannot confirm at this stage what type of bar types will come with NinjaTrader 8, but we have plans to improve support for custom development which should make custom bar types more accessible to users in this version.

Configurable price markers

It would be great if NT 8 allowed price markers (standard ones, not those in Chart Trader) to be configurable to have a label of choice. I have developed my own code to do that (using unsupported techniques, obviously) but a supported NinjaScript API for this would be great.

Drawing perfectly horizontal/vertical lines with F2

Hi, there!

I'd like to make a suggestion for a future enhancement. It takes some effort to draw a perfectly horizontal/vertical line with the Line tool (F2). It would be very handy to make this possible by holding the shift, ctrl or alt key down while drawing the line. Simple but useful.

MarketReplay debugging feature for NT8.

Market Replay is a great development tool for testing various scenarios. But, since NT lacks a single-stepping debugger, it would be of great benefit to have MarketReplay work in super-slow-motion, with a setting to Replay tick-by-tick and give some visibility into the code that is executing.

I know you have some improvements planned for NT8 debugging. I sure hope so, as the current Print() style debugging is very painful and limiting, especially for certain situations. It can take me several days to debug something that would otherwise take a few minutes with proper debugging tools. Thanks.

Hi guys,

Any ETA on NT8 Beta yet? The video was very exciting and I'm looking forward to the release. Not looking for a commitment, just a rough guesstimate from an insider. Is there anything holding up the release? Are the developers stuck in the mode of "just one more feature"? Have you guys in Support seen the product lately, and does it seem stable? Many of your customers are also programmers, so we understand development delays. What I don't understand is all the secrecy; transparency is a good thing when you're behind schedule.

At this time there is no release date or ETA available for the beta.
All I can say that is holding up the release is developing NinjaTrader 8. Our team is part of the bug testing and what has been developed is working well.
Any sort of announcements on NinjaTrader 8 and progress our CEO Ray Deux has continued to provide preview presentations on Big Mike Trading's forum. I would recommend to continue to check there for any future presentations that may become available.
