GAIN-specific license?

    That may be their requirement - there is no such requirement on the NinjaTrader side.

      Kyle, you bet it is unclear: talking to you I should have my account in GBP with no hussle. I am still chatting to them and they say that their link with NT can only be in USD. I think you should know better then me what you agreement with Forex.com is.

        To clarify:

        1.) There is no requirement for account type in NinjaTrader.

        2.) It sounds like there is a requirement on the GAIN side.

        Again, our software doesn't care what type of account you have. What GAIN requires to use NinjaTrader is what GAIN requires.

          Kyle, thanks for your explanation. We all know that NT is great and all that.
          However, you have to understand that in this specific thread I think it is important to know about how this link of yours with Gain works.In this context I frankly care very little how many currencies NT accept.
          You have set up a page to explain people how to proceed to continue having the Gain datafeed. The info there have proved to be not enough. Hence this thread.
          It was surprising and disappointing to have to know by myself (after several emails and chats with Gain) that:
          a) I have to open a new, NT dedicated account (in spite of what you told me some days ago in this forum)
          b) that account needs to be in USD only (in spite of what you telling me now)
          It may well be down to Gain policies, but I would have thought that NT were a bit more informed about these policies. I would have expected a more detailed and better prepared info from an otherwise usually very good support I am used to receive.

              Spreads for NT

              It's my talk with forexcom support. What NT support can say about this dialog?

              forexcom: I have been looking at our rates and I have seen the spread for EUR/USD as low as 1.4 in past minute.
              forexcom: It seems to be staying between 1.4 and 1.9.
              me: Can you say me where you see this spreads? I still see 2.6 pips
              forexcom: I see this on FOREXTrade Pro.
              me: I'm using Ninja Trader.
              forexcom: One moment please.
              forexcom: You will still your rates as the rates for NinjaTrader accounts regardless of what platform you login to.
              forexcom: I do see that the rates for this type of account will be slightly higher.
              forexcom: I apologize fore misleading you previously as I did not realize you had a NinjaTrader account.
              me: Why spreads slightly higher? Why you have this discrimination?
              me: And why you (forex.com) say me nothing about it when set me NinjaTrader account?
              forexcom: This is the specifications for NinjaTrader accounts. I am sorry as I am not sure of the exact reason these spreads are different.
              forexcom: I apologize. You may need to contact NinjaTrader regarding this.

              forexcom: I understand the NinjaTrader only provides trading software for you. However, it is a specific type of account which allows you to use NinjaTraders software.
              forexcom: We could not just offer NinjaTrader accounts without first getting consent from NinjaTrader.
              me: Maybe I can understand you when NT was free for forexcom users. But now it's not free. I must pay for software and I must pay to you higher spreads that use this software. It's ravings of a madman

              forexcom: If you wish to have a these lower spreads you can open a FOREX.com account instead of a NinjaTrader account.
              forexcom: However, as you know, you would no longer have access to the NinjaTrader platform.
              me: One more way is. Change my broker. If he don't want solve this problem
              forexcom: I am not sure this will solve your issue as other brokers may have higher spreads for their NinjaTrader accounts as well.

                Thank you for your post.

                Unfortunately, I'm not sure what the other party was referring to. The situation is as you state within the chat, the account exists at GAIN not at NinjaTrader. As such, we have no control over the spreads offered.

                  connect to Gain with free license

                  How I can connect (and can I connect) to GAIN (existing live account) with free license NT7?
                  When I try connect I see message "login failed..." and in account connections when I set GAIN connection I see new field 'brand code' What is this?

                    Hi fxcom,

                    You'll need to contact GAIN and ask that they tie the account to NinjaTrader, then you'll be able to connect after following the steps listed here: http://www.ninjatrader.com/Connectio...tion-Guide.php (brand codes are explained at that link as well.)

                      Hello,
                      Can someone tell me why there is no "Gain Capital" available in the drop down list of data provider on my NT7 when I try to add data connection?

                        Hi,

                        Can you re-enter your license under Help--> License Key, then restart the software and see if Gain is available as a provider. If not, please send a note to support at ninjatrader dot com, refer to this post and put in the subject 'For Vince'. Include your license as well so I can test it.
