You'll be able to use GAIN connections in the free version of our software so long as you have a username and password provided from GAIN.

You do need to have Forex.com have you in a Ninja Trader account, otherwise the feed will not work.

Yes, my understanding is that GAIN needs to specifcially configure your account for use with Ninja Trader. I don't think it would work with a MT4 based account.

missing 1 month of history

Hi All,

I think I am in the same situations as ChopR and beastment.

I have a funded account with Gain Capital/Forex.com. I have no real desire to trade with them but have enjoyed the free use of NT 6.5 for charting.

I have upgraded to version 6.5.1000.18. I have entered my old live account serial key. I have entered my new simulation account serial key.

Prior to this morning I had not used NT for about a month. When I started NT I received live data and about 24 hours of history followed by a one month gap and then history going back until I first started using NT. I have tried adjusting the account setting to use Gain history and then tried Ninja history, neither worked. Does this mean I will have to leave my PC on 24/7 to save the history locally or is there something else I can try.

The option is available. I opened the EURUSD and NT started receiving current rates. I selected 'Reload Historical Data' and it paused for a few second and returned only data from a month ago and before. Plus a couple of minutes of today. So it appears to be collecting live data and showing data stored from before.

Which interval was this chart in?

Please middle mouse click on the oldest historical bar - what time and date are reported for that bar?

It is a 60 minute chart set to go back 100 days.

The oldest candle is 8/1/2010 6pm. It continues hourly until 10/21/2010 1pm. It then jumps to 11/8/2010 5 pm and it is now on 11/8/2010 6pm.

I just set the chart to go back 10,000 bars and this led to the oldest bar being 2/9/2006 1pm.

Since it appears that you are configured with GAIN correctly - it is possible that you have reached the extent of the historical data for this Forex instrument.

The attached shows that there is two weeks of missing data. So does this limit mean

1. There is no way I can get that missing data?

2. I have to leave my PC on and connected 24/7 to store the data locally as I can no longer pull historical data from the server?

I un-installed NinjaTrader and then reinstalled it and now all appears okay. I just need to recreate all my templates now.
