Ok, I've purchased this product (Remotesoft .NET Protector NinjaTrader Edition
Item # salamander_3) but have heard no word on how to obtain/download product. Is there something special I need to do to obtain this download (to work with NT 6.5 and/or NT 7.0) which was the special price version with NinjaTrader? No special instructions were detailed at time of purchase.
Edit: Sending email to support [at] ninjatrader [dot] com as I see this is what others have done when hearing no response from Remotesoft ->Ticket # 344064

I've just tried to instal RemoteSoft v3.1 onto my Windows 7 64 bit PC which is running NT 7 Beta 19, but cannot complete the installation as it fails with an error code: 2869
Checking Remotesoft's website it seems version 4, released in March, is compatible with Windows 7. Do we have to install Remotesoft v3.1 onto XP to use it with NT 7 (in 32 bit mode)?
Is Remotesoft v4 compatible with NT 7?
It seems there is a real risk in relying on Remotesoft, which is a terrible company to deal with, for the protection of NT exported binaries. Is there another, more reliable, solution available?
Thanks
Chris

Hello,Originally posted by jdfagan View PostYes, this is a major problem that needs a solution. My installation also failed for Remotesoft Protector version 3.1 - I also am running Windows 7 x64 and got same error message (see attachments).
How can I protect my NT 6.5 code running on Windows 7 x64?
JD
i think this is the answer for your problem: before install, turn off the UAC (User Account Control).

V 4.0 incompatible with Ninjatrader 7 ?
I had the 4.0 version installed and it did not work with NT7. Version 3.1. was only released after 4.0. I do not know whether the problem has been solved so far.

Your suggestion did not work. I did a little digging and found this Microsoft thread:
The home for technical questions and answers at Microsoft. Get started asking, answering, and browsing questions about products like .Net, Azure, or Teams.
The suggestion in this thread failed to work as well for me. When viewing the log file output of this command which helps gather logging from the MSI execution, I see what the 2826 error is about:
Install.bat:
msiexec /i C:\Remotesoft-Protector-v31.msi /L*v C:\log.txt
JDCode:DEBUG: Error 2826: Control Line1 on dialog ConfirmInstallForm extends beyond the boundaries of the dialog to the right by 3 pixels The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package. This may indicate a problem with this package. The error code is 2826. The arguments are: C MSI (c) 74:3C [23:31:27:607]: Note: 1: 2262 2: Error 3: -2147287038

Same issue exists (error code 2869) from the latest download you sent me. I think there's a bug in that MSI installer with regards to Windows 7 x64. I tried with UAC on, UAC off (which I really shouldn't have to do), restarting, installing it for Everyone, installing it Just For Me - all combos failed with same error from both downloads you gave me.
