    CTrader Connect Ninja Trader 8

    I have a cTrader ID with IC Markets, and I have a net account. I want to connect CTrader to NinjaTrader 8, but I can’t connect after several attempts.

      Maybe try unchecking the 'Demo' button?

          The error message says NinjaTrader only supports 'netting' accounts.

          What's that?

          Do you have one of those?

            The two types of Account that are relevant are Hedging and Netting. Often brokers create Hedging Accounts by default, which NinjaTrader does not support. If your Account is a Hedging Account, ask your broker to change it to Netting.

              Hello sunnyQ,

              Can you please follow the steps below to manually attach your log and trace files in an email, so I may investigate the issue.
              • Open the Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" > 'NinjaTrader 8' folder
              • Right-click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
              • Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments in an email sent to "platformsupport[at]ninjatrader[dot]com".
              • Put 'Att Jason H, 03736137' in the subject field of the email.
              • Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

                      This Netting account still cannot be connected

                        Did you receive my email below that I sent February 27th?


                        Hello sunnyQ,

                        Thank you for your note.

                        When I check the log and trace files for February 25th, it shows the information below.

                        2023-02-25 18:29:49:446|2|65536|Account '2170246' is not a netting account. NinjaTrader does not support hedging or spead betting accounts.

                        2023-02-25 18:29:49:446 (My cTrader) CTrader.Adapter.RequestAccounts Invalid Account Type account='2170246' type='Hedged'



                        Can you please create a netting demo account in cTrader's platform first. Make sure this netting demo account is selected in cTrader's platform.

                        Delete the current cTrader connection you have in the NinjaTrader platform. Restart NinjaTrader and create a new cTrader connection.

                        Allow access only to the netting demo account you created when authorizing the cTrader connection in the NinjaTrader platform.

                        Check if you are now able to connect.

                        When I test this on my end, I'm able to connect successful (see attached screenshot).

                              When I compare our screenshots, I notice you have 'Tradeview Markets', while I show 'Spotware' (left from Demo). Can you please create a cTrader account through Spotware and then perform the steps of post 12 once more.
