C# 9 and .NET Framework 5, please. It would be desirable for upgrades in these areas to be scheduled for integration within 6 months of their release.

    Thanks!

    Hello ntbone,

    Thanks for your post.

Correct, we are still on C# 5 in the NinjaScript Editor. Greater levels of C# can be used in Visual Studio to create managed DLL's and these managed DLL's can be used in NinjaTrader all the same, though. (We would add the dll in bin/Custom, and then add a reference within the NinjaScript Editor to use it.)

We do have a pending feature request to use a newer version of C# and the ticket ID is SFT-3124. I have added your vote. This is an internal number, but for anyone else wishing to have their interest tracked, please let our support staff know that you would like a vote added for this request.

    Feature Request Disclaimer.

We receive many requests and cannot reasonably implement all requested features or changes. Interest is tracked internally and if enough interest is tracked, it would be weighed against how feasible it would be to make those changes to consider implementing.

When new features are implemented, they will be listed in the Release Notes page of the Help Guide. The ID number will be different than the internal feature request tracking ID, but the description of the feature will let you know if that feature has been implemented.

    We look forward to assisting.

Tested a C# 6 feature and I get errors about it being unsupported. Looks like we are still limited to C# 5.0. Is there a feature request to upgrade NinjaTrader to a more recent C# version? Add my vote if such a request exists, or please create a request if it doesn't.

  • NinjaTrader 8.0.23, .Net Framework 4.8 and C# Version

It is great news that NinjaTrader is now upgraded to the .Net Framework 4.8. Which C# version is it using?

If I recall correctly, up until now its been locked at C# version 5.

Learn how the C# language has changed over its many releases. Learn when different features were introduced in the language.
