GOMCD in NonCumulative mode vs FuturesDayTrader Chart

    Hi, Gomi:

First thanks a lot for your excellent work.

I compared your indicator with the indicator from today's FDT 3-min promotion video:

    (1) I took screen shots of the FDT's TradedVolume from above video for July 31 ES charts, as well as ES GomCD 1-min NonCumulative chart. It looks different from your NonCumulative chart. I wonder why GomCD plot green bars below zero line, or red bars above zero line? Also, FDT's TradedVolume indicator seems much smoother, show divergence clearly. Any idea why?

    (2) I wonder if GomCD can optionally plot/store the SizeAtBidAsk as described in the video? It seems to be a very powerful indicator if you look at the video?

    Thanks a lot.

      1) Well when the bar starts the CD is zero, then when the bar builds up the CD is calculated. It can end positive, but have spent time in negative territory in intrabar time. That's why bars overlap the zero line?

      2) Sorry, I don't have level 2 info. Isn't this stuff hugely manipulated anyways ?

        Hi, Tiger,
This video is awesome. I notice he also use NT, do you know where to get the indicators in the video?

        thank you.

Agreed. How are Flash Orders going to look in that? Thanks for the indicator Gomi - I have opened the code and made my own modifications. I suggest doing it as a good exercise to learn NinjaScript. It's work (and who wants to do THAT??) - but worth the effort.

            Gomi,
I am so glad you are back from vacation!
I am a new trader so am doubt if I truly understand GomCD indicator, Your help if deeply appreciated!

            Question 1:
Now I use the default settings but I set volume filter for larger than 299 and
smaller than 100. see the attachment

my questions is I am not sure about the definition of the size
Does it refer to "actually traded volume size" or just "bid&ask size", I ask
this question is becuase I believe "bid&ask size" is very easy to manipulated and misleading. I only trust "traded volume size"

            Thank you.

It's traded size. Beware that larger and smaller are meant strict : it's > and <, not >= nor <=.

Awesome , awesome, I just had some trouble uploading the pic. With your answer I feel much confident. I really like this indicator and now I can not trade or live without it.

There are 2 small strange things happen:

                1. I understand that is meant strict. that is why i set larger than 299 when i want to monitor traded volume size 300 and above. but when I try to set the trade volume size smaller than 99, it can not show anything but a flat line. I don't know why, does it mean there is no traded volume size smaller than 99?

                2. Another strange problem only happens to SPY chart. the historical record of "larger than 299" panel keep disappearing if I refresh the window or change settings. but the "smaller than" data stays. To get it back, I have to close the chart and re-open it to get it back ( 60-mins chart)

For a smaller timeframe chart like 3-mins SPY chart i can not close, refresh or change settings to the chart otherwise the historical volume data (larger than 299)may go disappear and I can not get it back by any means. so I have to let my computer run all the time. I tried to use F5 to refresh but not working.

Could you please take a look at the problems? GomCD is a very powerful tool I have ever seen. thank you for your contribution!

Maybe you're monitoring instruments that only have a minimum trade size of 100, like stocks perhaps.

Concerning the other problems, I'm quite clueless, it work on my computer. Take a look at the NT log panel, check you've got "Recording OK" on one chart, and that compress ticks is set to false.

Gomi, I would first like to thank you for all of your work. I am looking at the code now trying to figure things out in my head. This tool has really helped my trading. And I could never say thank you enough. It is nice to see a person who is willing to help others with very little in return. I am curious if anyone else would find this usuful. But would there be a way to add this to this indicator.

Perhaps a timeframe. Like 5 mins. Where perhaps in the output window or another indicator itself that shows in the last 5 mins waht occured. Like say i want to use 30 mins instead and at that time the bid-ask cumulative was 50k. The it is now 30 mins later. And the reaqding is 58k. The difference would be +8k. So basically a reading that is say every 5 mins or ect to guage market . I have found since using the indicator every 5 mins or so i write down the number and the current price of the futures. I then 5 mins later do the same thing. So even though we have it visually i can quickly kinda see number wise where we stand bearish to bullish.

If anyone else thinks this would be useful let me know. Its just an idea.

                    Thanks again

                    Tim

Here's a new version. Differences are mainly cosmetic
                      • Added Candlestick: show outline parameter
                      • Added Candlestick : enhance HiLo Bar parameter (thickness is doubled)
                      • Width of Outline as defined in general properties is now correctly used to draw the Candlesticks
                      Initial parameters are now
                      • File Format : Binary

                            Gomi,

I use the version 3.7b, however there is only "Recording KO",
when I refresh the chart, these words will also be gone and left nothing.
I press the F5 but not work.

Yes, compress ticks are all set to false , as you mentioned in your previous posters.

I think at the end of video, it tells you where to buy the indicator. I remember it costs $2000, and I could not afford it.
