7B5 Some Charts Stuck Loading Data...

Good point. Now that I think about it, this only happens on my dual monitor desktop machine. The machine I use at night is a laptop and this problem doesn't happen there....

Alfred, I've been able to reproduce the issue and have sent an email to development with the steps to reproduce it.

An additional note (NT on dual monitors)...this afternoon I had left NT7 open after shutting down live data at the close...then before starting live data again in late afternoon...I deleted all draw tool objects placed on charts today (quite a few, as usual). Then connecting live went OK without the connection and black screens problems...perhaps objects are not being saved correctly ??...did not try a "save workspace as" though...

Update Info...

Saturday morning...on a dual monitor set-up...before shutdown of 1 large workspace yesterday, removed all of graphic objects on charts placed there yesterday (quite a number of them). This morning NT7 started correctly OK again without a problem. Then tried a "saved workspace as" of my 1 workspace with another name....connected live. All seems to work OK. Can place graphics on all charts OK...close & open workspaces, shut down and restart...so far anyway.

Evidently the graphic objects on charts (perhaps lots of them) are somehow associated with the problems with "save workspace as" and workspace problems in general described in posts below, when shutting down or "saving as" with lots of graphics on charts etc. in a dual monitor set-up.

7B6 News...

Just started NT7B6...all charts (9) in a main workspace opened at correct compression...as did a new chart... and all individual chart properties came up correctly also...so far so good...!!

And the + & - tab buttons in the Basic Entry window now work OK too...thanks for that fix !

Will try a "save workspace as" after the close today.

Like the new logo & new splash screen at start up...

Things are looking great !!...

7B6 "Save Worspace As" Working Good Now...

Just did a "save workspace as" on a main workspace after the close, with lots of chart graphics on several charts from todays mark ups. It went off without a hitch...both the original and the copy are stable and graphics can be added or deleted from each. This works as well now as 6.5 does to "save workspace as".

Initially thought there might be a couple of minor problems...but created a new identical workspace and those things did not appear again...upon opening and closing etc.

I did start to save historical data today for a short time...wonder if that fouled something up ?? Creating a new chart works OK...

- Can you first send us your workspace files via Help > Mail To Support.
- Then yes, you should blow away the workspace files
- On the linking, I created a new workspace, added Basic and DOM windows, linked them together (purple color) saved workspace and shut down, restarted and the two windows are still linked...Any idea how I can reproduce what you are seeing?
- Instrument list in my DOM shows newly added futures contracts. Specific instrustionc if you can reproduce, would help me a lot

Ray...just sent workspaces...

In new workspace have a static DOM and Basic entry window...I always link these (green)...this did not persist in the Basic window when just restarted...monitor #2...have seen this recently several times and wondered about it...New contracts came up OK just now in new workspace OK.

Ray...just checked again...window linking does not persist upon restart ...bright green color still in DOM, but not in Basic..

DOM & Basic are on Monitor #2...this same linking & position works OK in 6.5.

Unfortunately I can't reproduce. We must be out of step on part of the procedure.

Please start with fresh workspaces and give me in exact detail, the steps you take. What do you click on in sequence, do you connect, what instrument do you select etc...

On the linking problem...just did a new workspace with just a static DOM and Basic Entry...color linked the two...same instrument (NQ)...closed and opened NT again & the color link in the Basic window was not showing (similar in another complex workspace too)....tried an identical new workspace as above on another copy of NT7B6 on another machine with identical results..the color link on Basic Entry does not persist there either upon restart of NT...this same exact linking, placement and configuration has always worked OK in 6.5 for me...but not in 7B6...

Don't know if can reproduce exact steps to the loading data hangup...the workspace crashed on startup...I currently use just that one same exact workspace all the time...will see if the problem pops up again next week maybe.

Can you generate a video showing the NT control center and all steps...I can't reproduce so somewhere we are still out of sync with each other on the steps you are doing vs me.
