Can you generate a video showing the NT control center and all steps...I can't reproduce so somewhere we are still out of sync with each other on the steps you are doing vs me.

Ray...did a fresh install of 7B6 today...linking of DOM to Basic Entry still does not persist.



Also...ATM set in Basic Entry also does not persist at restart...

I can't reproduce, it is working as expected. If you can still reproduce, please zip up the contents of your workspaces folder and email to our suppport address attention to "RayD" refererencing this post.

Ray...did a clean install 2 machines today...when I create a first workspace of just DOM and Basic Entry and link them, can then close NT and at restart the linking persists...but when I add back old folder contents of Chart, Chart Object, Chart Series, Indicator, UI.xml, & workspaces...then the linking no longer persists at restart...then if delete all folder contents just added in, linking still does not work...then did another fresh install and linking works OK again at restart with just DOM and Basic Entry.

Something in one or more of those folders is creating the linking problem...now to figure out what it is...any suggestions ??

Playing around with this a bit more...found that when I copy my old custom UI.xml hotkey settings back into NT that the linking no longer works then...must reinstall again then to get linking working OK again....I am able to copy old "ChartObject" and "Chart" folder settings back in and linking still persists OK then though....just created custom hotkeys in NT rather than copy old ones in...linking still works OK now also.

Something about copying in some of the old folders info mentioned above fouls up the linking evidently...

Possible window linking bug identified...

Looking at a new clean install of 7B6 today....no migration and had deleted NT7B6 folder in My Documents...

First thing done was to open DOM and Basic Entry windows. Then linked DOM and Basic entry with same color in linking boxes. Named workspace, then shut down and restarted...linking between DOM & Basic still there. Then formatted Basic Entry...simulation color, PnL display, Show PnL when flat...then shut down and restarted...linking between DOM and Basic no longer persists....

Tried this on two machines (though on one, formatted both DOM & Basic after the first restart)....linking DOM & Basic then is broken after formatting Basic Entry on next restart on both machines...

Could there be an installation formatting Basic Entry bug somewhere that breaks the linking of DOM and Basic Entry...??

Edit...found that if you do not format Basic Entry in any way that you still cam format the DOM and then linking between them will then persist upon restart.

When you shutdown are you saving the workspace? I was unable to reproduce.

Yes I always save workspaces at shutdown.

I have duplicated this exact procedure on 3 machines with completely fresh installs of 7B6.

Just checked another machine. At start up green link in Basic showed OK in a non formatted Basic Entry window...then formatted 3 things in that Basic window (color of sim mode, PnL etc)...saved workspace, shut down & re-restarted NT...now green link does not appear at start-up, and it will never work again, that is persist at start-up (it will work OK only for the session if you color the box in again)....and the only way to get it to work again (persist at a new start-up) now is to uninstall NT, do a completely fresh install and do not format anything in Basic window.

Screen shots below, before and after format procedure outlined above.

Update...after breaking the Basic linking by formatting Basic...I then deleted the broken Basic window...then did another restore from another machine where Basic linking was OK, and then can get a basic unformatted window where linking will persist.

Corrected 1 error re green link after formatting above..

Unfortunately I am not running into problems with this. Are you saving Basic Entry as default or just pressing Apply?

OK...had an unformatted Basic window linking OK with DOM after a restore...formatted several things on the Basic window and hit default...shut down...restarted...linking Basic with DOM did not persist...
