Thank you NinjaTrader_ChelseaB for clearing up the API priority of NT developers, absent a schedule to share with customers leaning on the fence.

Every project has a schedule, if it is a priority. Example:

The fast train "Brightline West between LA and Las Vegas broke ground in early 2024 with an ambitious schedule of being open in time for the Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games in 2028".

Here, we are not developing the NinjaTrader from scratch; we are talking about an API with 2-years advance notice. We should know how long it will take and share it with customers that care.

Hello aligator,

This is a priority for our developers who are working on the new adapter.
This is not on the backburner as you have suggested.

It will take time to create, test, and deploy. The API documentation was only recently received by our development team.

Howdy NT Developers why not give these guys and gals a call for help, they have a working one!

If and when the new connection is ready, a new release of NinjaTrader will be released with an in product announcement.

Further, it will be listed in the release notes.

Although I am a little confused about "if and when the new connection is ready". I thought you were definitely working on this?
Please let us know if you are not working this so we can figure out another solution. I believe there is a lot of us waiting on this fix.

It's been already one month since the final batch was migrated and it is still not working. Many of us use NT to either analyse or operate and this cuts many of us off.

Unfortunately, there will not be any news until a new release of NinjaTrader becomes available and the new connection to Schwab is listed in the release notes.

No, there is no news at this time.

Our developers are still working on building and testing the new connection adapter.

It's been 3 months since the last update of this thread. Has anything changed with the ability to connect to a Charles Schwab account ? If not, when is the best predicted time to see this feature that the whole community is waiting on?

We cannot provide an ETA of when this will be available.

I've been following Wealth-Lab's forum on their TD Ameritrade to Schwab API transition efforts. They are also getting the "run around" from Schwab regarding their commercial license application. However, they have been able to develop an "individual connection extension" that still requires users to get their own API key and approval from Schwab's Developer's portal. Are you all considering doing something similar? I received my API key and approval from Schwab months ago but loath the idea of restarting my custom app based on Java to use their services. In fact, I abandoned my custom app efforts in June of 2023 (I was half-way finished) when someone pointed me to NinjaTrader. I believe most of us would be happy to go through Schwab's approval process if that means we can use their services with NinjaTrader like before.

This will not be the route NinjaTrader takes. The schwab connection is in development and testing and is expected in a near future release and will not require users to obtain a API key.
