    All,

Sorry for the delayed response. Our infrastructure provider, IQFeed, that powers Kinetick is currently experiencing an outage. We are in communication with them as they resolve this and will report back frequently with updates. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Ray - this has happened twice now recently. And clearly there's zero support available on the weekend to diagnose and address this before Monday.

Do you have any intentions to correct this? Futures open Sunday at 6pm. It's now Monday 11am EST and Kinetick isn't working, responding to emails or (crazy thought here) proactively communicating. Why are paying customers being treated so poorly?

Short answer is yes, this will get corrected. I have escalated this to our CEO for a post mortem.

            Thank you Ray,

I understand this has a bigger impact on Ninjatrader than on us users. However I simply cannot understand how Kinetick does not even communicate that information to subscribers. Some of us pay a very high monthly fee for this data.

I absolutely love Ninjatrader and I am subscribed to kinetick BECAUSE I know that it helps Ninjatrader. However I must say that I care less for the outage than for the absolute lack of transparency from the Kinetick side - and this is a problem on the Ninjatrader side, not only IQ feed. I am really hoping that there will be positive changes on the Kinetick platform following that event.

Thanks in advance and good luck!

Another thing to note is that DTN's IQFeed continues to work - there seems to be a specific issue with Kinetick. Perhaps NinjaTrader should stop making proprietary versions of existing data feeds and implementing them in a haphazard way. Your platform would be a lot more attractive if you allow various data & routing feeds (i.e. CQG) to work seamlessly instead of trying to bank off of proprietary white-label partnerships with existing brokerage and data services.

The CEO has to do a post mortem? Really?
Aren't you the founder of NT?
You just had the same problem in July and no steps were taken to make sure that it wasn't repeated.
I'll save him (you?) the time.
                      Two possibilities.
                      1. Problem: No systems are in place to recognize outages when they occur,
Solution: Put systems in place for the purpose of recognizing outages as soon as they occur. Then advise users of the outage and provide the fix (which has existed at least since the last time this occurred).
                      2. Problem: A system for recognizing outage exists, but nobody at NT had the sense to send an email to all Kinetick customers as soon as the problem is recognized.
Solution: Send an email to customers. "We're experiencing an outage. Here's a fix."
                      Post mortem complete.
                      This is basic stuff.

Ray, I know that you are trying to help. So I don't mean to jump on you. But this is basic stuff.
You are right, this is basic stuff. That said, there are a lot more questions that I have asked our CEO to provide answers for. I am not sure if the the problem in July was the at its root, the same technical issue. That said, the communication piece is where we failed and we deserve black eyes at minimum for that. We will do better in the future.

                              Thank you for the update.

Overall, Kinetick has been extremely reliable. I have been using NT (legacy user) with Kinetick for almost a decade. I have also used Bloomberg, Reuters, and a few others in parallel. I think when Kinetick does go down it is a shock, simply because it has been so reliable. Not to say that it shouldn't strive to be 100% reliable given the business we are in, but they do deserve credit for a long track record of reliability.

P.S. Can't post without crediting Ray with the NT8 code base. NT8 was and is still a masterpiece of parallel processing code.

Personnally I get disconnected from Kinetick many times a week, but yeah, I can live with that.
