Yes they'd better refund at least 1 day (Assuming it's fixed by tomorrow)Originally posted by Nipponnatto View PostSo Market just opened 0930 est and its still down. and still no reply from Kinetick.. Lolz... No notifications, no communication. And this data feed is pricey. Is there some sort of compensation fee members can expect? #just sayin
I had seen one of these threads at the weekend when there were only 3 posts. Didn't really care as assumed it would be a very temporary glitch.
Can't believe they've let it persist until US market open!

OK so I'll do the support then, if Ninjatrader doesn't want to do it. I don't take any responsibility in whatsoever, just trying to help my brothers and sisters here.
I have connected with the IQ Feed connector and I receive quotes from stocks on the Nasdaq which is what I trade.
So if you want to try:
1. Download the IQ feed connector (I have version 6_2_0_20): http://www.iqfeed.net/index.cfm?disp...ction=download
2. launch the data connector and enter your Kinetick username and password
3. set up the connection in NT8
it works for me I also have level 2 etc

Good luck on that refund. It's Monday morning and they couldn't care less their data feed is down.
But keep us posted if you get a refund, would be a first.

The IQ Feed workaround didn't work for me. I guess for my side, If support team can offer
1. Root Cause (if you want to share) lol
2. Backup options should this happen in the future
3. likelihood it will happen in the future?
4. Any compensation or some sort of member benefit for downtime?
Any help would be highly appreciated... even some sort of comms lol thanks guys

----------Update 1----------Originally posted by anon84 View Post
It works! you're a genius thanks.
I was recording market data with the now working connection and noticed my disk space was bleeding FAST.
Turns out NT8 has created over 2GB of files in the log folder and 1600MB in the trace folder.
The log text files are over 600mb each and I can't open them.
The trace text files are all around 13MB in size and are just flooded with this error over and over.
2022-11-14 14:53:22:684 ERROR: IQFeed.Adapter.BarsWorker msg='Server: WebSocket++/0.8.2 ': Input string was not in a correct format.
CPU is 70% usage and client window frozen. Other windows can be interacted with, charts, market analyzer etc.
I just don't have enough disk space to be bleeding GB's every few minutes, so unfortunately will need a proper fix.
----------Update 2----------
I found this old thread with my exact issue: IQFeed (trial) problem - NinjaTrader Support Forum
It states the problem can occur if another program is using port 9100, and that Logitech G Hub is known to be one.
After some experimenting I am guessing lghub_updater.exe is the one that likes to use port 9100.
I used task manager to kill that, as just closing the main app doesn't kill that process.
After loading NT8 first and connecting, then loading G Hub after, I was able to see (using command: netstat -ano -p tcp) that lghub_updater.exe was using port 9101, so I guess it scanned and found 9100 was in use and used the next one up.
Hope this helps

The IQ feed fix worked for me. Thanks for that.
Still no response to emails from NT or Kinetick.
And no response from NT in their own forum.
I get that outages happen. What's hard to accept is their complete silence on this.
All they had to do was send an email advising customers that they are aware of the situation and are working to correct it.
How hard would that have been?
And perhaps they could have included instructions for IQ feed work around.

Finally received a response from NT:
"Hello,
Thank you for using NinjaTrader.
Currently we are aware of a connection issue with Kinetick. Once we have further updates we will provide them.
Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this item.

Amazing to me that they know there is a work around, but did not include it with their response.
