    Jason,
Still no data from previous contract after using your suggestion. But why is this only happening with ES? NQ & 6E merge and display perfectly.

Please take note when NinjaTrader loads historical data at the link below.

Most likely when reloading historical data, you overwrite the merged data with data from the data feed provider you are connected to.

I am not sure what CVB what is referring to, could you please clarify.

CVB stands for constant volume bar, this is simply called a "volume" chart in NT. I'm not referring to the volume indicator, but the chart where the intervals are determined by volume.

When you merged the data, did it display tick data was merged successful?

How much days did you merge?

Yes, it did say that tick data merged successfully. I merged from 3/20/2009 to 6/10/2009.

              Jason,
I also use Constant Volume Bars (CVB) in the chart data type drop down menu (Tick, Volume, Range Seconds etc). Tried what Radical stated by opening a Minute chart of ES and works fine, with all previous contract showing. However, there seems to be a problem ES whether using CVD, tick or range data types. NQ & 6E show CVD charts perfectly.

Did you connect to Zen-Fire after you merged the data?

                Try the merge once.

Once merged, open a YM 06-09 chart from 3/20/2009 to 6/10/2009.

Open up a YM 09-09 chart and check if the 3/20/2009 - 6/10/2009 section resembles the YM 06-09 chart. Make sure the same volume interval is used in both charts.

I did reconnect to zen fire afterward, nothing has changed. The YM 09-09 chart does not even show bars for 3/20 onward, only from 6/08 to today, and the ones from 6/08 to 6/10 aren't merged from the YM 06-09 contract because they don't look the same (there is much less volume in the 09-09 contract, if it was merged ata, the volume would be much higher).

Please perform the merge without connecting to Zen-Fire afterwards.

When you connect to your data feed, most likely it will overwrite the data you merged as per post #32.

                      No resolutions from NT

I have had problems with merging at every rollover. These issues keep reappearing just look at the numerous posts in the forums. NT seems oblivious to the concerns of its paid or free users because unfortunately the standard response from NT has been just try this or that until something magically works.
Anyway Jason, none of your suggestions have worked. Just a suggestion, it is better and effective if you actually believed that the suggested resolution works first before passing it on. It is just frustrating from a user's point of view to try this and that. NT needs to resolve this.

The merge process will be transparent and automatic in NT7, you will not have to deal with it.

Thank you Ray. If NT7 can fix this, then I am looking forward to its release.

                            ES Data not merging

                            Hello Jason,

I have followed all suggestions posted in this thread. ES data for constant volume charts is not plotting in my charts despite the fact that NT confirms the tick data was sucessfully merged.
I'm trying to merge the ES 06-09 contract into the ES 09-09 contract. Dates from march 25 until jun 10. The tick data has been stored in my computer and i have been using the constant volume charts on a daily basis.

Any other suggestions that might help?

                            Thanks

                            AQ

I am posting also in a thread i initiated when i had the same issue during the previous rollover date. http://www.ninjatrader-support2.com/...t=15078&page=2

                              Hello AQ,

Can you please verify if you connected to your data feed after you merged the data.

Please tell me your exact steps when you merge data.

When you open up a volume ES 06-09 chart for 3/25 - 6/10, does it resemble the 3/25 - 6/10 section in the ES 09-09 chart?

                                Hello Jason,

                                Thanks for your reply.

Steps i followed for merging the data:
I closed my custom workspace. The default workspace is open but without any charts.
                                I disconnected from Zen-Fire.
I opened a 15000 constant volume bar chart for ES 06 09 ( i have it set up to plot last 30 days).
I opened the exact same chart for ES 09 09 (i added it to the instrument manager about 3 days ago, and had the chart open so some data is already there).
Historical data>merge; in the "from" field i selected ES 06 09, dates from march 11 09 until june 10 09; in the "to" field i selected ES 09 09.
Clicked continue. NT took FOREVER but eventually i got the confirmation message. No historical data found on ...., minute data successfully merged and tick data successfully merged.
I closed the charts, and then opened them again. ES 06 09 plots all the info just fine. ES 09 09 plots a bunch of vertical lines going back about 20 days (one line per day), the data for the last day is plotted OK.
I closed the charts, closed the default workspace. Closed NT.
Re opened NT. Opened my regular workspace. Connected to Zen-Fire.
Info in the constant volume charts is just as i described, a bunch of lines on the left of the charts with the info compressed (about one line per day) and then the last day displays the ES 09 09 info correctly.
I am attaching a picture of the chart i described.

                                Looking forward to your suggestions.

                                Thanks
