Studio88 you are not insane. I have a similar issue but I can't find an easy way to prove it. Screen grabs move the mouse so I need to look at some screen recording software. NT7b18 and earlier, Win7Pro32.

      Hello MXASJ,

Can you please confirm you experience the exact same issue as studio88. Chart sub-menus (besides the Data Box) cannot be closed by the X button in the upper right corner. Some of these menus cannot be moved either.

        Hello MXASJ and studio88,

Coud it be the issue only occurs when the windows are located on a secondary monitor?

          Jason,

I have installed both NT 6.5 and NT 7b18 on another computer accordingly and can confirm this does no longer happen.

So it appears that this is a local problem. Of course it does not mean to say it does not happen, and this now takes me to your suggestion.

And a good suggestion as there is nothing left else to try apart from this.

I am running 3 x Dell 23" LCDs from my dual core laptop, and this is where this issue takes place.

This is the only thing left to try to recreate the issue/event from apart from another fresh install of NT(s).

The only other thing to consider is by uninstalling all other charting applications on the computer so only Ninja and IB TWS is left.

I may leave LCD testing until sometime over the weekend.

Thanks for the confirmation also MXASJ, it is good to not be alone with issues, be it local ones or not. Would be interested to hear your setup to also know what it could be from your end.

          Cheers for now.

Bingo! I can't give you a screen shot, but the issue only seems to occur (in my case a quick test of right click>New Strategy in the Strats tab) if the dialog box is not on the primary monitor.

            Dell T3500, 2x NVS295 cards, 4x monitors.

Can you please check if you have all latest drivers installed as per your external monitors.

I have an external monitor as well, but not from the same manufacturer. I am not able to reproduce the issue on my external monitor.

Yes, also Bingo for me too. Its good to get to the bottom of this small but significant annoyance.

Obviously this has something to do with going across multi-display.

My driver update check does say they are updated for the devices that I am using which are 3 x USB VGA each with a 2048x1152 resolution on a Dell 23" 2048 max res monitors, and of course, plus my laptop display.

I've checked Windows Update, NVidia update, and Dell drivers update and all say I'm good.

                  Attached the NVidia diagnostic printout.

                    Hello MXASJ and studio88,

Could you please post a screenshot of the chart on the external monitor that will not close its Indicator menu.

To send a screenshot press Alt + PRINT SCREEN. Then go to Start--> Accessories--> Paint, and press CRTL + V to paste the image. Lastly, save as a jpeg file and send the file as an attachment.

Jason, its not just Indicators, it is every Dialog Box (apart from Show Data Box) that has a mini X

Also I seem to be able to close these boxes successfully by clicking Ok or Close, but just not the mini X

Every other larger X or things that have a bigger X seem to all close fine.

I cannot post a screen atm, as I just about to crash for the night as its late here again, plus I am all Ninjad out atm :P

Another example of a screen shot is one I posted earlier on regarding importing security codes, there is a screen shot of the Import Stocks dialog box which also has a mini X that also does not close (on external monitors), so hopefully that can be of use to you as well.

Oh and dont forget the moving of the Data Series box (after right clicking a chart) as not only can you not close it by the mini X button, you can not move it out of the way by dragging it by the Title bar. (whilst using external monitor).

Hope what I have said is clear and makes sense. If not then I am sorry, I am extremely tired and ready to sleep.

                      Good night.

                        Hello studio88,

Yes, I know it occurs on other chart windows as well.

We are looking into the issue. As soon as there is new information regarding the matter, I will let you know.

                          Hello studio88 and MXASJ,

In order to further troubleshoot the issue you experience, can you please provide all information of how you create your multi-monitor setup.

Please send me screenshots of Nvidia/ATI/Intel Control Panel in relation to multi-monitor setup. Please send screenshots of the Display Settings and any 3rd party multi-monitor software, such as Ultramon or similar software as well.

In addition, please provide screenshots regarding the properties for how the actual monitors are setup also.

Attached. Basically the problem manifests itself if the dialog box is anywhere but Mon 3.

I appreciate your efforts and consistency however this is becoming major work.

Do you know how many screen shots there are with UltraMon? Let me tell you, there are numerous.

I am trying to make a dollar here during my focussed day so I can hopefully pay for a NT License

                                Hello MXASJ and studio88,

Thank you for providing this information. In order to further analyze the issue, could you please test if it occurs using NinjaTrader 6.5 as well.

If you do not have it currently installed, you can do so from the download page at the link below.

You can have both versions installed on the same machine, however you can only run one at a time.

Please check if the issue occurs when using the menus/windows in question on an external monitor as per NinjaTrader 6.5.

                                Thank you for your cooperation.
