New NinjaTrader Logo and Color

Perhaps NinjaTrader_Ray would send me a new hat with the new logo to advertise and replace my old golfing hat he gave me many years ago at the Money Show in Las Vegas.

I wonder how that is going to affect my handicap, and can't wait to see the reaction of my other threesome players when they go blind on the first tee

I've looked at these skin files in .xaml and please correct me if I am wrong but there does not appear to be a way to change the color of the branding - that is hard-coded.

Can someone from NT please chime in as to whether we will be able to edit a skin to change the color of the BRIGHT RED on every Chart, DOM, Control Centre etc. On 8.1's Left hand corner?

Is the BRIGHT RED Hard Coded or can we change it as there are plenty of skins where the entire platforms color is changed as per my prior post but can we change just the BRIGHT RED on the left hand corners to something a little more discrete.

I wrote on the prior page with no response as yet and am asking again as for the question to not get buried?

I updated only to quickly reverse course.

The Charts, DOM, Control Centre etc. Are the same as before but the top left label tab on every window is the same color as the new logo
And I'm pretty sure the "X" to "close" window on the top right is the same new color

Go to the Ninjatrader website and look at the "Get Started" & Open Account" tabs, the exact same color is used, try staring at that for a while... - https://ninjatrader.com/

Somebody anybody tell me that this color on every single window is not an unwelcome unnecessary eye catcher that should not be on any trading platform.
We need to minimize distractions not put a fluorescent button on every window

Also the new logo is displayed on Windows taskbar in the same color and in my brief experience is quite obtrusive, enough for me to feel like I had to troubleshoot and attempt to remove it, with all the other issues it was better to just revert back to 8.0

There's no way to use small tabs in Win11 task bar anymore so your stuck with the large bright red "N" on your taskbar unless you hide the taskbar completely or does someone has a fix for this???

torento You can see these files in Documents -> NinjaTrader 8 -> templates -> Skins -> NinjaTrader (or NinjaTrader Dark) if you want to see what all is adjustable. I don't know for certain (that's why I said "Please correct me if I'm wrong" in my original comment) but I did not see anything in there right away that led me to believe you could change the color of the branding. The color does not bother me personally - I was just commenting on what it appears that you can do vs. cannot do using the skins feature.

I see now that you can change the logo to black as well as the upper-left captions on each window ("Chart" etc.) by adding these lines to ControlCenter.xaml (and I presume to other window skin files where you want to do this):

I've seen multiple Custom Skins for NT 8.0 with the RED on the top left of all Windows changed to be the same color as the custom skin itself (see prior post screenshots)

I assumed it would be an easy fix to edit for example a Slate Gray Skin to change the color of the RED Boxes

Can I ask why people have been able to edit skins for NT8.0 changing the RED top left color but are unable to do so on NT8.1?

Creating your own skin is supposed to be an option in NT why are we unable to customize a skin to look how we want it to look?

I did follow up with a member of our scripting team and they confirmed that if you want to create a custom skin as mentioned above it is possible.

The colors you are referring to would be associated with NinjaTraderLogoWordmarkBrush and NinjaTraderLogoCaptionBrush

What you should do is in the skins directory, copy NinjaTrader or NinjaTrader Dark or whatever you want to use as the base, and then in ControlCenter.xaml add those lines after the other similar lines in the structure.

Just need to find an .xaml editor to have a go, any ideas for a free option as this is all I would ever use it for I guess?

Notepad works fine for this purpose. Just paste in those two lines.
