Hello Cormick,
Thank you for your post.
Please note that Interactive Brokers does have historical data limitations that if hit can take a long time for charts to load.
These are outlined in the link below:
https://interactivebrokers.github.io...mitations.html
We advise starting with only one chart window set to a 1 minute data series and loading 1-2 days worth of data to test.
Does this chart load without issue?

It worked previously on 1min and 10 charts starting NT8 Desktop.
Now it can take 1h as shown here:
https://forum.ninjatrader.com/forum/...96#post1266596
Some Daily chart even don't load.
No TWS issue, nor Market Analyser output issue (though we see loading... in the Market Analyzer Title area: https://forum.ninjatrader.com/fileda...1&d=1693352245 )
Besides, it would be very annoying having to load multiple charts one by one and negate the use of workspaces.
What you're suggesting is again little tweaks. I'm interested in a complete and permanent solution, a professional solution. As was provided before.

Hello Cormick,
Thank you for your post.
The process I mentioned earlier was for testing the limit of when the slow loading will start and not meant as a permanent fix.
As mentioned by my colleague a fix is implemented in the next version of NinjaTrader 8.1. But unfortunately we do not have an exact timeline of when this will be released.
In the meantime the current workaround would be to reduce the amount of historical data being requested within your workspace.

Little tweaks are for open source softwares the likes of StockSharp...
What compensating solution do you provide in the mean time? Am I supposed to load my charts one by one and redo all my templates and workspaces every day... What compensation do you provide for that daily waste of time?Last edited by Cormick; 09-08-2023, 10:02 AM.

Hello Cormick,
As mentioned, the issue you are hitting is called a pacing violation documented here: https://interactivebrokers.github.io...mitations.html from IB's page. This is not a bug or an error, but instead a limitation of using the IB API. Therefore there is nothing NinjaTrader can do to resolve this particular issue.
If you note the following excerpt from the link: "Important: the above limitations apply to all our clients and it is not possible to overcome them. If your trading strategy's market data requirements are not met by our market data services please consider contacting a specialized provider." This is an expected limitation of using IB's API, and they recommend using a different data provider if you require more data than this.
If you do not want to rebuild your workspace, I would advise getting a different data provider that does not impose such restrictions on the amount of historical data you can access in a given amount of time.

That is simply not the case. Why did it work fine for years before and not now?
Besides, as I said already before the daily chart is also giving the same issue as well as the 1min chart for which no such alleged 'pacing violations' are reported in the shared documentation.
Why are you being intentionaly innacurate to mislead users?
When will you fix your buggy and annoying platform issues and doulbe standards customer service instead of unsuccesfully trying to push towards 3rd party data providers your licencing did not advertize for at the time of licencing?
What compensation will you provide for the waste of time?
What legacy platform able to supply for such future issue will you provide to prevent costing trading weeks to customers?
When will you go back to upholding your business responsibilities instead of shifting the blame to an international billion dollars company alledgedly responsible for the shown issue emanating form NT platform mismanagement and customer services duty escapism?Last edited by Cormick; 09-08-2023, 01:15 PM.

To clarify, the issue with daily data is a separate issue, which is fixed in the next release. If you'd like early access to this version please write into our support team and reference this post and we can send this version to you, although it should be released to the public in the next 2-3 weeks.
Otherwise, the pacing violation issue is something we can't further assist with. To elaborate, this issue can be intermittent because you are loading different amounts of data each time you load the platform.
For instance, a typical pacing violation is hit when requesting 50 or more days of minute data (approximately). If you have 15 minute based charts with 5 days of data loaded to each, you would likely hit a pacing violation since you are requesting 75 days of data. However, if you let the data load after the violation resets, and run the platform for the day, much of that data is cached to the machine. So when you start the platform the next day, it loads all of the data available in the cached data, which is most of it, and then the data from when the platform was shutdown from your data providers historical data servers, which is only a few days of data. This is why this issue can be intermittent, as it depends on how much data is actually being requested from IB's servers, not the amount of data loaded to the workspace.
