    Interactive Brokers retiring required version of TWS

    Using newer versions of TWS I get orders immediately canceled after being submitted. Will there be a ninjatrader update to fix this before this version is no longer supported?

    Hello Support,

    Interactive Brokers Connection Guide​ is still posting IB Gateway as
    I'm getting the same warning message from IB saying I have until 20250320 to upgrade to IB Gateway 1030.1
    I've posted the link off the IB warning message to upgrade into this message below.

      Thank you for the message.

      If you review the NinjaTrader - Interactive Brokers connection guide linked above and below, you will see that the supported Trader Workstation Platform (TWS) has been changed to version 10.33.1b:

      Please uninstall the version of TWS that is currently on your PC and then use the download link from the Connection guide below to download the supported version of TWS and install that:
      After switching to the supported version of TWS, reconnect your account and test.


      If any unwanted errors or messages continue happening after that, please use the following steps to send your log and trace files to the support team directly from your NinjaTrader Platform so we may investigate this behavior further:
      • Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
      • To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"
      • Subject: Copy and paste the Forum URL
      • Attach: Attach a file, picture, or compressed file to share multiple files/pictures
      • Body: Include any other information you would like to share on the situation
      • Make sure 'Log and Trace files' is checked to include the requested files
        • Send the email

        The question is about those of us that must upgrade to IB Gateway 1030.1

        Can you please advise about IB Gateway upgrade being asked by Interactive Brokers?

        Where should we download the IB Gateway upgrade from ?

          Hello rayko,

          Thank you for the update.

          I have shared the information with the Development team and found out they are finishing up final testing before releasing the updated IB Gateway installer publicly.

          Unfortunately, I do not have a timeline on when this will be completed.
          However, I will post back in this forum post once the updated version of IB Gateway has been made available within the connection guide.

              Thank you for the message.

              Unfortunately, the updated version has not been finished yet.

              It appears that the new version of IB Gateway is not needed until March 20th, 2025.

              The updated version of IB Gateway should be available before that time.

                  Thank you for the update.

                  The Develeopment team is actively testing the new version of IB Gateway and it will be available before the deadline.

                  Please feel free to check the Interactive Brokers - NinjaTrader Connection guide. If you notice the version has changed, the changes have been implemented.

                    Hi Ninjatrader Team,

                    I just noticed you added a note on your website that IB Gateway is no longer supported. Are you serious? You've been claiming until 3rd March that you are working on an update and you are just informing us now last minute that it is no longer supported? How can you allow yourself to do something like that?

                    Very unprofessional and unpredictable behaviour that makes making any business with you extremely risky.

                        Hello NT team,

                        We have raised this issue for few months, your team told us that this issue has been working many times, told us that a new release will be come out before the 20250320 and told us not to worry for that. As an old NT user, I do believed on it as NT always provide an updated release after they promised for that. The following posts are the discussions on this issue.







                        We believed your team have been put a lot of effort on this issue, we would appreciate if NT can honor what they promised. Otherwise, if there is a need for an update in the future, who can believe what your team said and who dare to use NT anymore?

                        Even the release cannot be come out before 20250320, just let us know when this release will come out? IB said the previous version will be desupported on 20250320, doesn't mean we cannot login the previous version IBgateway/IBTWS. Just in case there is any issue happened when using the old version, they won't provide support. I think NT + IBgateway user can continue to use this setting after 20250320 for sometime even the new NT release is not come out. So, please keep working on this issue even after 20250320 and provide a timeline for us when such release will come out.

                          NT team,

                          This is really unacceptable! You can't just say "we no longer support ib gateway"! I have paid much money for a lifetime licence 4 years ago. This because you supported IBKR. And now you simply say "we no longer support IB Gateway". You know that TWS is not stable to run a long time. It is not build for this task. I tried running TWS and it crashed within the hour. The "disruption of your service" (the way you mention it) is already there!

                          Besides that, you promised us a new version in time over and over. Why the change!? Please elaborate on your decision. Is it a final decision? and why?

                          Please let us know if you need more time and we can have a new version in the near future?
