    New chart bars not forming

    My chart seems to be frozen on one bar. It gets longer and longer instead of forming new bars. I was on the 2000 tick ES, but it now does this on any instrument and chart type.

    I tried reloading historical data, no luck.

    I also found a similar topic in forums that recommended this solution:



    First, disconnect from any data providers by navigating to the Control Center > Connections menu, and left-click on "disconnect" that appears to the right when hovering your mouse over any active connection
    • Next, reset your instruments by navigating to the Control Center > Tools > Database Management
    • In the Database Management window, under the "Update instruments" section, ensure that "General properties", "Futures expiries" and "Symbol mappings" options are checked and then click Update
    • In the Database Management window, under the "Update trading hour templates" section, ensure that "Predefined trading hours templates" is checked and then click Update
    Next please use the steps provided below to sync the PC clock:
    • Close NinjaTrader
    • Right click on your time->Adjust Date/Time
    • Click "Sync Now"
    • Once successfully synched open NinjaTrade

    I tried this and no change after restarting. I am using 'Simulated Data Feed'. This just started yesterday after I configured the data feed. Please advise. ​

    Thank you for the message.

    The "Simulated Data Feed" is a made up data feed that will not load in a chart like a normal data feed.
    • This is just in the platform for people to test things when the market is closed or if they don't have real-time data.
    • This is NOT a good data feed to practice trading with.
    So, it sounds like the Simulated Data Feed is working as expected.


    Instead, you would want to get real-time data from somewhere, connect to that, and then continue using the platform.
    Otherwise, you could look at the other supported providers:

      Thanks for the quick reply.

      I just opened a NT trading account a few days ago, but have not funded it yet. Is the only way to get data for the a simulator to get the 'Free 2 Week Trial' in an unfunded account?
