how many of you still stuck at 8.0.28.0?

In order to avoid the web login arrangement which is 100% infeasible for our setup, we stopped upgrading after 8.0.28.0 when ninja introduced the brutal license migration to web. Ever since, we lost all upgrade benefits and worst of all, the 8.0.28.0 bug fixes (UI submenu issues)

May I know, how many of you facing my similar situation?
For those who have migrated to the web login, could you share your views?

Thanks in advance for all inputs!

Still on .28 due to reports here of failings with web-based licence verification.
NT response to which is fail to accept ownership (‘twas ever thus).
For my use case login is a minor unwarranted inconvenience, not a deal-breaker. However inability to trade is, so remain on .28 until evidence indicates login is reliable.

8.0.26.0 on win7. No sing-in at every startup, can work offline, no useless watch button, no flashing bug (not fixed yet). it just works

Sadly, think I'm stuck between both versions for the duration.
I have tools that need to work in both, What choice do I have?

Only really using the new version to test update compatibility.
Pretty much still using 8.28.0 for everything during normal day.

To many little issues w/new versions up till most recent release,
and with v8.28.0 being so stable for me, hard to justify switch!

Plus, when I want to code, the Platform Must Open! (Log-in or Not!)
w/new c# too easy to code something NOT backward compatible. (heh)

Also share .sqlite between computers (synchronize accounts/trades)
NT recommended against sharing the db across different NT versions.

But really need to start exporting in new version due to VS debug issue!
When Schwab adapter released and stable, will probably have to re-think!

          Same here, still on .28.

With regards to Schwab (TDA) adapter, it seems like NinjaTrader has no incentives or interest in giving priority to developing the API after Schwab provided them with the information months ago. Why should they support Schwab as a competitor?

If there is going to be an API any time in far future, most likely will not be compatible with the older NT versions and requiring a switch to the latest version anyways.

          Cheers!

            Hello Edge,

I haven't switched yet. Could you describe the issue with logging in?

Are you unable to code unless you're logged in? Are there specific times during the week when you can't log in?

All newer NT 8.1 versions require you to log in just to open the desktop.

In past, weekends, login servers were down for maintenance and S.O.L.
Happened twice, been long time ago now, unsure if would still be issue.

Im still on it because if i get an exception when coding something complex, i want to be able to open the program without typing in my long 20 digit password you know.

I feel like they should be separated and same thing with the license migration, or at least have an option to be separate.

We should be able to boot ninjatrade with no login PEARIOD

I use the latest version for development purposes, but run mission critical software on 8.0.28.0. The main reason is because I need it to be able to start up cleanly upon restart of Windows without user intervention. While I could do that with 8.1 with scripts, it's a kludge to do so (pushing keyboard characters and the like, when we can't know what all might pop up in front of that window given the random timing of things loading during Windows startup - even if it works most of the time, is that really the standard here?) and it's more reliable to just run the older version that doesn't require login every time.

I'm on 8.1.3.1, and honestly, having to log in *every single time* is driving me nuts.
We're developing products for NinjaTrader, but now they force us to log in a thousand times a day.
Every time I make a tiny change to my code, boom, login again. It's insane.

I wouldn't even mind the login if there was just a simple checkbox like, "Keep me logged in for x hours (or days)."
But of course, NinjaTrader listening to their customers? Yeah, right, like that's ever going to happen.

And i guess another big reason why so many people are still using 8.0.2.28 is because it's been cracked.
I haven't seen any cracked versions of 8.1.3.x floating around yet.

                      Still on 8.0.28.0 here, too.

Still rocking Win7 here as well, but I have a Win11 machine
migration in progress ... sigh ...

The idea of all those constant logins with the 8.1.x.x releases
drives me bonkers just to think about.

I have continued to refuse to upgrade.

If and when the NT mgmt idiots ever add a 'Remember me'
checkbox to the login dialog, then will I upgrade. I don't
understand their fear and hesitation to do so -- I've never
seen their reasons adequately explained in detail.

NT mgmt keeps giving a big giant middle finger to their
entire user base when it comes to this issue.

                      Bummer.

I would agree, anymore, physically having to type password
is probably the only thing holding me back from new version.

                          smart choice!
i hate myself to experiment one machine to upgrade to 8.0.28.0. As I have a few NT licences running on identical hardwares and system softwares, 8.0.26.1 seems to be more reliable as 8.0.28.0 does give me some UI issues.

very true! I haven't updated other addons for a long time as well in order to avoid irreversible breaks in software. very very sad!!!

                              the most horrible thing is:

once you changed to web login, your license will be migrated and you will NEVER be able to go back!
you will have to be forever stick with a ninja ID which I don't feel comfortable with if anyone hacked it....
