"There is no set release date for the next version, but we generally release updates about every 6 months.
The latest version of NinjaTrader was released in April, 2024.

Once a fix for the connection is implemented, it should be found in the Release Notes for a new version of NinjaTrader.

So that coinbase problem? Too bad, buddy - wait six months. So kick rocks, everybody -- that thing you wanted to be fixed will be done by ... March of 2025 -- Maybe.

I have the same problem. Coinbase connection is in a disconnect/connect loop. No matter what version of NT I am using. Please review.

At this point, I'm looking at scraping some kind of feed. This problem is obviously not a priority for them, given that they have opted to fold it into the 6 month upgrade cycle. So glad I paid for a Lifetime license to be blown off when something that worked suddenly breaks.

Maybe if I had a bigger account they would listen. Not sure what the cutoff is between "pleb" and "whale" for them.

If I wanted to do that - I would have already. I'll just pursue homebrew solutions to something that shouldn't be broken in the first place, while everyone waits months for it to get fixed. Unfortunately not everyone has the ability to do so. I guess they just twist in the wind...

Would appreciate the sharing if you could. The NinjaTrader platform has been going down the dumps, not worth the thousands paid. First it was the broken TDAmeritrade/Charles Schwabb integration. Now it's the broken Coinbase integration. If y'all have any good alternatives, please post it here.

Generally NT8 has been fine, its just when something that works suddenly breaks that annoys me.

Anyway, did some preliminary research and I would have to do something clunky like take another feed from a chart package I use, export the 5min OHLC in .CSV format, then use code on the NT8 side to import and update the chart there.

Stupid, and unnecessary in normal circumstances, but not like they're giving us a choice, are they... saw some info about "ChartToCSV" that implies its two-way for export/import, but not certain on that point. If not, I'll just write my own.

All I can think of at the moment. I'm concentrating on intraday trading so haven't tackled it just yet. Unlike NT staff, my job isn't to support and maintain a chart package, I have money to make.

Coinbase made a change on a development level, our team has addressed this and is aiming to push this fix for the next iteration of NinjaTrader. (8.1.4.0) While I don't have a timeline to share at this moment, rest assured that your concerns are being heard and addressed.

Allow me to paraphrase the corp-speak you'll no doubt get:

"We value our customers, except in this case when the next available release date is likely to be March of 2025. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with."

Given that October is practically done, and that was the first release guesstimate, then it looks like March is it.

This problem started August 21st, 2024.

Its been 194 days or 6 Months and 10 days since this began.

We're in March now, and haven't heard a single thing about it.

I'd like to know what is going on, thanks.

I seem to remember there was a kind of mechanism to alert for updates, but I can't find it. Anyway, downloaded the current version and the Coinbase connection/crash problem is fixed.
