    Should I be worried about a series of "Root element is missing" errors?

    Should I be worried? Things seem to work as expected afterwards.

    Thank you very much for your post.

    In the past, this issue was caused by Acronis blocking access to NinjaTrader's folder, which keeps it from being able to parse these files.

    If you are aware of Acronis, please temporarily disable it or exclude NinjaTrader from it.

    If you are not using Acronis, or this does not resolve the issue, please send me your log & trace files and I can best assist you further.

    You can do this by going to the Control Center -> Help -> Email Support

    Please select "Platform Technical Support" as the recipient and enter a brief note in the message referring to this post.

      Sent. Thank you.

      I don't have Acronis installed on this notebook.

      Edit: to add that it happened again today when loading up NT8 after a system reboot.

        Thanks to support NT staff they suggested that the problem was related to the skins. Armed with that knowledge, I simply copied over the Slate Gray skin folder from my desktop which did not have this issue over to my laptop which did and the problem was resolved.

        For reference, the problem occurred at each boot up of NT8.

          NinjaTrader_Manfred Given the resolution stated by DmanX that "support NT staff" identified the issue as "related to the skins", can you report that whatever the issue really is, it is a known bug that will be addressed in a future release?

            It's not a known bug per se. But one that might occur if Acronis backup software had been installed. Since I never had Acronis installed, that couldn't be the culprit.

            I figured that since my desktop didn't have the issue, I might as well copy over the skin directory.

            What I am reasoning now is that HP's preinstalled Wolf Security Suite may have corrupted the skin file. The Wolf Security Suite has a bunch of nags that make things go bump.

            The error didn't seem to affect anything. But I didn't like that it was there. Glad to have found a fix.
