OneDrive -- No!

I have the same problem, NT8 is looking for my one drive, so I remove or unlink my one drive setting and reinstalled my NT8, but still it is looking
for something on my one drive, why is this so, I erase all files when remove all file in document folder. Why is it looking for my one drive files when I install to new
when opening still.

Please reach out to One Drive's support team directly for more help getting their software to fully leave the PC so that when you uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader, it doesn't include OneDrive anywhere in the file path.

• Within NinjaTrader, go to the Control Center > Help > Email Support...
• To: Set this to "Platform Technical Support"

I want to do what you want, But the Problem is not that , I try erasing One drive and I did, But it keep storing it to one drive he log files intentonaly, but there is no log files in the log folder created.
And when sign In it looking for a log file , there is no log file created.

Thats a good error to see. It means that one drive isn't there... it can't find files on one drive (woo hoo!) .. however, you didn't do step number 6. Once you do that, you wont' get this error. And also, don't copy files from the old directory back into the new one because they probably all have hard coded directory links in them... specifically the config.xml so you're going to have to reconfigure from scratch.

Also to anyone else reading this, setting up windows 11 without a microsoft account and that will save you a ton of headaches with your whole windows experience.

I solved the problem above by reinstalling and removing one drive. But still, MS is creating a one-drive problem. Now, I have a problem installing the indicator, as shown in the picture. It is erasing the folder, and when I try to load it, the folder is new, and I cannot find where the old folder is and it is in the new folder (NinjaTrader Custom Resource resources ) file

Microsoft is not forcing user what they want, they want all files and data in their onedrive so we have to subscribe to their system , $7 a month now for all user, so if you have all microsoft don't upgrade you willforce this amount every month. Also they are putting Bitlocker in their system also for you to subscribe in their protection and also paythe manufacturer of the Laptop you use.

Thank you for the message.

From your update, it sounds like you need to reinstall One Drive onto your PC, and then follow the steps we provided to "Manage Backup" > "Stop Backup" on the Documents folder.

• Then, you can follow the rest of the steps.

Only once you've followed all the steps to Stop Backup of the Documents folder can you Uninstall One Drive and it not still be in there affecting NinjaTrader.

Thank you very much for your post.

While it is possible to change the program folder that NinjaTrader installs into, it would always use the Documents folder that Windows itself provides to store its data.

If you would like to change the location of the Documents folder itself, you can do this by opening the Windows Explorer, right-clicking "Documents", selecting "Properties", and "Location". However, this would move the Documents folder including all files therein, and change the reference to where this folder is.

An alternative is to completely disable Microsoft OneDrive, I've included some publicly available information in this regard below:

I'm scared here! Put files with intensive read-write above a OneDrive folder is a basic complete error! I have 1 TB space in my O365 One Drive but the problem is about the high risk to corrupt files because Ninja and OneDrive read-write the same files in parallel all time!

The solution should be very simple! Provide a option to choose the installation folder during the installation Wizard!

I need to keep both in my machine ONEDRIVE and NINJA. Stop One Drive backup or Sync isn´t solution for me!

Thank you for the message.

There is unfortunately no way to change NinjaTrader looking in the Documents folder for its unique files at this time.

As a workaround, you could still "Stop Backup" of the Documents folder.

Then, use the "Pictures" folder or a custom Folder like "Documents - One Drive" and then use that for all of your file synchronization instead.

• You could make a sub-folder within the "Pictures" folder since it gets backed up by One Drive as well and treat that as your One Drive - Documents folder moving forward.

Some users are able to have One Drive on their PC without issues, but we have also seen it create a variety of unwanted behaviors. The only way we have documented to stop One Drive from being a factor is by following the previously provided steps.

You are always welcome to reach out to One Drive's support team directly > Provide them with our steps > Then see if they have a suggestion on an alternate way to achieve the same end result.

I do not want to offend anyone here but this is a little bit of a stupid implementation from NinjaTrader. Microsoft intended these folders to be not cache folders. I understand the reasoning of putting settings, indicators sources, may be the compiled DLLs, but my gosh, why on earth the market data or databases are in the documents folder. There are specific application data folders for this purpose.
