    NT 8.1.1.7 bug report add/edit Instruments

    Hello,

    Here is the problem :

    When I am trying to click on "add" or "edit" in "Instruments" menu (Tools->Instruments) I get an error (see in attachment).

    I tried in 8.1.1.6 and 8.1.1.7 same problem, I have to downgrade to 8.0.28.0 to not encounter it anymore.

    Note that I didn't try with "remove" option.

    Thank you for your post and for using NinjaTrader.

    I'm not able to reproduce this behavior. I am able to both edit and add new instruments without issue in 8.1.1.7 and 8.1.1.6. I'd like to take a look at your log and trace files to get a better idea of what the full meaning of the error that you are receiving is.Please send me your log and trace files so that I may look into what occurred.

    You can do this by going to the Control Center-> Help-> Email Support

    Ensuring 'Log and Trace Files' is checked will include these files. This is checked by default.

        Just in case someone else encounter the same problem here is the solution :

        We continued our exchange with Zachary by mail.

        First Zachary proposed me a workaround that is the following : try to open the add/edit Instrument menu in safe mode :

        Safe Mode will prevent NinjaTrader from:
        • Loading workspaces.
        • Connecting on start-up.
        • Loading custom assemblies.
        • Getting instrument updates from the server.
        To enable safe mode, please use the following steps:
        • Exit NinjaTrader.
        • Hold the CONTROL key and double click the NinjaTrader icon.
        • Keep the CONTROL key held down until you see the login splash screen
        • Login to the platform
        • You can verify you are in safe mode by going to Help -> About.
        ​Then he found the root cause of the problem and the definitive solution is the following : removing "LMax Demo" Ninja Script Assembly
        • Tools
        • Remove Ninja Script Assembly
        • Select LMax Demo and remove it
        ​After that everything works well and I can add/edit Instrument menu even when not in safe mode.
