I'm thinking maybe I should just put the app back on & work out the setting to ignore the paths Ninja uses.

One drive problem
So I went through a bunch of trouble trying to remove Onedrive 100%.. I'm not sure It's possible to remove 100%. The path keeps coming back. Is there a way to install Ninja Trader so it doesn't use the Onedrive path? The Onedrive path will just comeback on any restart & I for sure do not have Onedrive installed.

You might keep an eye on thread below.. I'm expecting NT to respond with recommendations!
On Windows 11 a fresh install now puts the "documents" folder into OneDrive by default and another Documents folder under the C Drive. So when I install Ninjatrader the settings folder is in "C:\Users\Username\Onedrive\Documents\Ninjatrader 8" I want the Ninja Trader default Documents folder to be directly
But don't hold your breath... 7 days now without NT's acknowledgement it's even been read!
Please Be Safe in this Crazy World!

Not sure if tihs is related but after I have Ninja open for an hour or two I am building a lag. My system gets slugish. The mouse starts to skip across the charts. I noticed its building up memory. In the task manager it gets up to 40%. I for sure do not have the One drive app but I can't say if there is some background stuff going on. Any ideas why this could be happening? If I close and reopen everything returns to what I'm used to, no lags at alll & about 6% memory.

The only fix I know is to uninstall and completely remove both Ninjatrader and OneDrive from the computer. Then reinstall just Ninjatrader. After install, check Ninjatrader's Reference list to confirm all are pointing to the local files.

Hello dtaylor,
Thanks for your post.
As long as OneDrive isn't syncing the Documents folder anymore you do not need to remap any folders.
For more information, see the link shared by Edge in post # 3.

Hello dtaylor,
Thanks for your note.
Lagging symptoms are indicative of your CPU getting overloaded. As a test to confirm the platform is operating as it should without being overloaded, I suggest to close all charts and workspaces and to open a simple chart that does not use templates, custom barstypes or has any indicators added. This chart should update as fast as we expect. If this test workspace is fast and yours is not, your workspace would be overloading your CPU.
Remember that when there is increased volatility, NinjaTrader will have more to calculate and lagging symptoms can be more common if the CPU gets overloaded with too much work.
The impact NinjaTrader has on your PC will be dependent on how much NinjaTrader has to calculate. For example, having several charts with multiple complex indicators running can cause NinjaTrader to stutter and can cause short freezes. We typically advise the following as tips to improve platform performance.- Configure charts so their Days To Load is an absolute minimum, just enough for your indicators to function properly
- Configure indicators to use Calculate.OnBarClose when possible as opposed to Calculate.OnPriceChange and Calculate.OnEachTick.
- Use less charts and less complex indicators
- Avoid using Tick Replay.
You may also wish to use the NinjaScript Utilization Monitor (Control Center > New > Output window > Right click > NinjaScript Utilization Monitor) This tool will tell you which components in your workspace are creating the most impact on your system.
After you leave this utility running, the items on the top will be those that are taking the most CPU time. Reducing/eliminating these items will be bring the most performance improvement. Please note that some NinjaScripts, like ChartStyles, require drawing every visible bar with every render pass. Having a ChartStyle at the top of your utilization Monitor would be normal.
I also suggest to use the Windows Task Manager to view other programs that are using your CPU, and to close resource intensive programs that are taking juice away that NinjaTrader would otherwise be using.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.<span class="name">Brandon H.</span><span class="title">NinjaTrader Customer Service</span><iframe name="sig" id="sigFrame" src="/support/forum/core/clientscript/Signature/signature.php" frameborder="0" border="0" cellspacing="0" style="border-style: none;width: 100%; height: 120px;"></iframe>
