Every time I have to login to open NT8 on my computer

While an autologon feature would be helpful, most of the time, and I definitely want it for those times, I would further like to go back to being able to use NT without an Internet connection. When my Internet connection is out (for the last year I've had a HughesNet knife to my throat), I'd like to still be able to develop (i.e. code, test on Market Replay data, etc.).

add me to this list. fro starters, i cannot login to ninjatrader anymore today. i have already provided the details by email and on the other thread. this method of access is affecting my ability to login to trade today.

I personally watched as a client got locked out of their account today while in a trade. They had to restart NinjaTrader due to a problem and were unable to get back in because they typed in the password wrong several times and then were put on timeout. It's a pretty hideous "feature" - being forced to type in the password to restart is whatever is the opposite of a feature. I recommended they downgrade to 8.0.28.0 for safety because it's too great of a risk, as they clearly had demonstrated to them today.

+1 to give users the option to enable this "safety" feature or not. I was completely happy with the prior incarnation not requiring the password every time for 10+ years.

there seems to be a handful of users (i think they said last 37 feature requests) out of the (how many total users they have?) .. i can't imagine from a business point of view, on a feature that doesn't directly generate money, that they would have this at the top of the priority list .. that's all..

You might also consider the time factor.

This is 37+ negative votes within 3 months.

I mean, despite being a 'low' number, the rate at
which these votes accumulated -- I think it's pretty
fast, and may be a point worth considering.

As I write this, forum statistics show there are
122,789 forum members but only 2,108 of those
members are considered 'Active'. (See lower
right of forum top level home page for statistics.)

Remember, NinjaTrader makes absolutely no
efforts to advertise or solicit voting-based
feedback for anything.

How many forum users even know that votes are
being accumulated, much less how to vote?

[EDIT: Where does one vote? How to find the correct
thread to add your vote? How to know a particular
thread is collecting votes even exists? It seems all
of NT Mgmt hates users in this regard. For its entire
existence they have done their utmost to discourage,
suppress, and avoid collecting this type of community
feedback.]

There is no central webpage to enter votes or
review the voting results. Voting is a barely
acknowledged thing.

While I actually agree with you, it is worth noting
that NinjaTrader makes almost zero efforts to
acknowledge how voting impacts any particular
priority.

And even when they do -- you gotta find the
biggest grains of salt to accept their claims,
since they are completely anecdotal and
untrustworthy, simply not verifiable in any
way.

The mandatory password entry was implemented
due to mgmt decree -- being mandatory with no
'Remember me' option is the essential thing here
that is so burdensome.

The fact that it appears to be an extremely low
priority to add a 'Remember me' option is also
due to mgmt decree.

There is no other plausible explanation.

This is so frustrating. I wonder how many people now leave NT running 24/7, unnecessarily consuming bandwidth, just to avoid having to enter their login info? I also wonder how many people are at even greater risk by having their password written down on some unsecure text file right on the desktop for "easy access". Can't wait for version 56.7.8, where they finally add a "Remember me" checkbox feature. Keep "counting" those "votes"...

Lol, late to the party. Add my vote too. We just need a checkbox that says remember password or something. I'm glad this feature exists when I'm using my laptop. I'm not glad this feature exists when I'm using my main dev battlestation and having to type my password in 40 times in a day. It's needless friction. Cheers.

The login problem seems to have improved. Now I can copy and paste the password onto the login dialog.

kkc2015 I've never not been able to copy and paste the password into the forced login screen for desktop NT.

And bring back the ability to create a password for the terminal!
You have written so much about security here - what is the point then of your desire for security, even if the password for the terminal and personal account is ONE???
