new version 8.1.1 and I'm lost

I download and installed the new version 8.1.1

    but

I had a lifetime license, multibroker,
    where are the connection settings?

well, looks like I cannot enter my license key, and there is not the connections setting, so I cannot select my brokers

    ????????

    Hello,

To enable 3rd party brokers you will need to enable 'multi-provider' mode under Tools>Options>General from the Control Center.

Below is a link to our help center article on this process as well if needed:

The license key activation was moved under the account dashboard on this page: https://account.ninjatrader.com/settings/subscriptions
Not sure if it's documented anywhere. I just happened to find it out by accident.

Thanks for the pointer tmc_. Some observations/question:
        • Issue: The settings page for Preferences has the ability to switch Appearance between Dark/Light/Auto. Switching to Dark makes the menu items virtually invisible. Only Light seems to make them visible. Colour scheme issue to be addressed, I suspect. (Using standard MS Edge browser.)
        • Although the URL for the page implies "subscriptions", the menu to reach the page lists it as "Plans". Just a small inconsistency.
        • The settings related to the license are under the Account Plan section on that page. The "Import a license key" button is where to go.
        • Question: if one imports one's license key into 8.1.1.0, does that in any way affect the continued use of that same license in 8.0.27.1?
EDIT: Further to the first comment above about the colour scheme issue, it would appear that it may be peculiar to MS Edge. Also, in Edge, entering the password to login and pressing Return goes exactly nowhere -- it seems that the Return key is not actioned in Edge, and one has to click the Log In button.

        Thanks.

yes, I found what I needed

          anyway.

          into admin panel

          it tell me to buy

          Plan Add-ons

          Order Flow+

and Multiple Broker Add-on for Desktop Platform

          Disabled

well, I already have lifetime license, multibroker
so I don't really understand why it asks me to buy order flow+ for desktop version
and multiple broker addon for desktop

          I'm not gonna pay again.

so I will keep the old version into my laptop

when you updated the site you forgot about your old clients

#Hellboy78 thanks for posting your findings.
I’m same - legacy lifetime Desktop User & feared something of this nature.
I took a tentative sniff around and saw all sorts of power-plans, add-ons and the like that seemed incompatible with lifetime licence use so I got the h*ell out of Dodge

Hopefully Support will step in offering step-by-step instructions

                Hello All,

                Thank you for your post.

Although we have a new look, nothing is changing for our long-time users.

For previous NinjaTrader Platform License holders, all previous functionality remains the same. If you have a Lifetime License, you will receive Order Flow + enablement on your new plan for free.

For NinjaTrader Brokerage customers, commissions are unchanged. You will stay at the same rate you were paying prior to the new features. In addition, all customers now have access to the new Web & Mobile platforms, should they wish to use those tools.

To migrate your existing License key, please see here - Migrate My License Key

For instructions on connecting to 3rd party brokers (multi-broker license) see here - Enable Multi-Provider Mode

We hope this clarifies things a bit.

Feel free to reach out with any other questions.

Hello, could you please advise how to best launch NinjaTrader upon a crash? Previously, if NinjaTrader crashed while running an automated strategy, or the computer had a problem, I had a script to relaunch NinjaTrader, and also a task to automatically reopen on computer start.

With the change, I can't figure out how to get rid of the NinjaTrader login modal when launching NinjaTrader desktop.

I know you said all previous functionality remains the same, so wanted to ask you about this in case I'm missing something obvious. For example with Interactive Brokers, there's an option to disable 2 factor authentication to automatically log back into IB Gateway when it goes offline.

Is there really no way to get rid of this new NinjaTrader login modal? Is resorting to something like autohotkey the recommended solution for automated strategy error handling?

There is a need to enable automatic login at startup. There are many obvious reasons to have this.

So in NT 8.1 you need to login everytime you launch NT? That's horrible.

fyi there's an earlier thread shortly after launch where this was identified as pants and username and password will be able to be saved on a future release. Not clear if it will be fit for purpose though - if you still have to hit Return...

                          Thanks.
Could you give some thought to this scenario and what may be a conundrum

Lifetime licence, not multi-broker 'grandfathered' with a 3rd-party broker

(i.e. if I'm reading correctly I'll need multi-broker to access other than Ninja Brokerage - which I don't have?)

It seems to me, that whilst you say 'nothing will change for long time users' there will be some changes we need to 'do'.

For example - put yourself in this Users shoes:
Until last week, if I wanted to Update a Desktop version, I simply went to the download page where my licence key was stored in my browser, selected from drop-down and away we go. Same as I've done for 10 yrs

Now, am I correct in thinking I need a 'Ninjatrader account', albeit I don't have to use NT Brokerage

What I find confusing - is that it seems to me that for any User migrating from 8.0 to 8.1 - the first thing they need to do is create a NinjaTrader 'user' account which they will not have......Talk of dashboards, 'plans' etc are all unfamiliar to me

No rush, just preparation for now

                          Kind regards,

your new pricing page, saying this
                            • Lifetime

Lowest Commissions & Order Flow + Add-On Included

                              $0.09 / Micro
                              $0.59 / Standard
                              Commissions per side

                              $1,499
                              one-time payment

why into my lifetime license, multibroker I still have 2.09 usd commission for ES ?

Currently there is no way past having to sign into NinjaTrader upon launch, though our development team is aware of this limitation and is looking into possible solutions/alternatives for the next release. We are actively working to find solutions that offer the most convenience possible while also maintaining our required security standards.

The need for a NinjaTrader 'user' account is to replace the current license key system with our new 'account plan' pricing system. Instead of your enablements and commissions being determined by your license key, this will be determined by the account plan linked to your NinjaTrader user account. This was done in hopes of providing more clarity and self service options for people wishing to change or subscribe to different plans and features more easily. However, as mentioned, those with existing license keys will still receive their previous commission schedule and platform options. I apologize for any confusion this process is causing for our existing users.

hellboy78 I'd recommend writing into support[at]ninjatrader[dot]com so we may look into your specific account settings and ensure you are being charged the correct commissions.
