What is an object type? Let me know if I am getting away from what you want me to do. I want to do exactly what you are telling me.

The only other indicators that were not part of the NT* indicators were TAS Volume Profiles. But that was quite a while ago, and I deleted those. I have not loaded any other add-ons.

Hmm, I think something is wrong with the NT installation itself.

Notice how the compiler error messages at the bottom of NinjaScript
        Editor say 'Metadata file C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 8\bin\...'

[If you could expand the width of that column and report back the
entire substance of those error messages, that could help.]

Let's discuss that error message ...

        NT8 installs its program files into 'C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 8',
but the user files go into 'C:\User\Tony\Docments\NinjaTrader 8'.

To have something wrong with the program files installed into
        'C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 8\bin' says (IMHO) the installation
        itself is bad.

Are you sure you ran the uninstaller before re-installing?

My goal was: return you back to a known starting point -- a factory fresh
pristine installation with a brand new pristine 'Documents\NinjaTrader 8'
user folder -- the point was: no compiler errors should ever happen on
a correctly installed pristine factory fresh brand new installation. They
        just don't.

Getting you back to this known good starting point, and then carefully
moving forward from there -- that is my suggestion on how to find and
eliminate the import error you're seeing.

NT Support will come online soon, they'll be able to help you tackle
these remaining issues blocking your Import. In severe cases like
this, they can simultaneously contact you via Skype while they remote
login to your pc. It was quite a few years last time I needed this, but
AFAIK, they still do it, as long as its scheduled into their workflow.

        -=o=-

My apologies if I messed things up for you, but I don't think I have.
I mean, getting back to a known good starting point to troubleshoot
an import issue found via a compiler error message seems quite
        sound to me.

        Good luck!

          Hello anthonybenincasa,

The errors of post 13 are caused when a .dll file is being referenced that NinjaTrader is unable to find.

          Steps to Resolve
          • Right-click within the NinjaScript Editor window and select "References".
          • Locate and select the reference to the .dll file mentioned in the Error. Please widen the Error column so you can see what .dll files are mentioned.
          • Click "remove" to remove the reference.
          • Click "OK" and recompile.

            Huh?
Why should OP have to do this?

            Let's review,
OP just got done re-installing NinjaTrader ...
            It's now a brand new installation ...
OP now sees strange errors ...

            Look at post 10.
Why should there be any errors at all?

            Your advice sounds insane.
Have you not read the entire thread?

            Ok, I'm calm ... maybe it's me.
            So, what am I missing?

To resolve the compiling errors of post 13, you would need to remove the .dll file references. These compiling errors indicate .dll files are referenced which are not present.

If you have compiling errors, you can't import NinjaScript add-ons. The compiling errors need to be resolved before you can import new NinjaScript files.

After post 13, I don't see other errors that are being reported by anthonybenincasa. The error in post 10 indicates there are compiling errors. Then post 13 shows what these compiling errors are.

anthonybenincasa, can you please widen the Error column and post a new screenshot of the compiling errors.

In addition, please right click in the NinjaScript Editor window and select References. Include a screenshot of the References window as well.

The compiling errors refer to .dll files that should be present by default. The .dll files reside in the C:\Program Files\NinjaTrader 8\bin folder.

Can you please download the NinjaTrader 8.0.27.1 installer file from the link below.

While NinjaTrader is shut down, please double click the NinjaTrader.Install file and repair NinjaTrader.

Once NinjaTrader is repaired, please start NinjaTrader and compile again. Check if you still have compiling errors.

If you have different compiling errors, please send me a new screenshot that shows the new compiling errors.

I can't see all references in the References window. Please make sure there are no duplicate references. I have included a screenshot that shows all the default .dll references.

This can indicate a corrupt installer file. Can you please reboot your computer. If you use a VPN or anti-virus program, please temporarily disable it. Then download a new NinjaTrader 8 installer file from the link below.

Subsequently use the new installer file to repair NinjaTrader and check if the error persists.
