Thanks, I'll look into it.Originally posted by BearingHH View Post
Was it necessary to emulate an US connection, or did it work just like that ?

Sure, you must get connected to the Chicago server or perhaps any other US server. You could also try any other VPN service with servers in the US. As long if the connection is not routed the way Kineticks connection from Germany/Europe, it should work.
Since only a few customers report the problem in the forum, Kinetick doesn't have that many European/German customers or are they all on vacation?!

Yes. It is. And it is on DTN's side. I have tried to describe it logically. We have different data feeds. Only DTN sucks. That's pathetic.Originally posted by maxherehello View PostHey Guys, thanks for all the research you put out.
From the attention the post got already, I assume we have a real issue here.
I'll keep you updated.

Yes. That's a possible workaround. However, it is DTN Kinetick responsibility to make it severs available worldwide. Not only US.Originally posted by BearingHH View PostNow I use a VPN service provider and get connected directly to a server in Chicago and the connection to Kinetick is no problem and stable so far. And the real weird thing is, that I never ever had such a low latency for the market data (measured with indicator ChartLagTimeV3 and prior update from the system clock over NTP). The ping round trip time is not really different as before.

Please note that this is not an issue of DTN servers. They are up and running. When the issue was reported on December 22nd, we were in contact with DTN and they informed us there were no issues with their servers. Not all DTN/Kinetick users are affected.
There is an issue in the route between your computer to DTN servers. NinjaTrader/DTN does not control what route it takes from your computer to DTN servers.

NinjaTrader_Jason that's correct. But DTN has the best chance to fix this problem, as they are more related to the level3.net service as your customers or their internet providers. If DTN will not help to solve the problem your customers must find a workaround or another data provider or platform. There is also a chance, that the level3 routing has other side effects and gets fixed in the near future, but who knows. If you are not ready to do something, you may as well close this thread right now.

NinjaTrader_Jason They are doing it the easy way. It works for them without thinking about to change their level3 service. As mentioned in replies above: DTN Kinetick is the only provider WW which has issues with the EU users. DTN does not take customers' requests seriously.
Now I have to add an VPN Service to make DTN run every day. How, weird is that?

BearingHH I have installed the VPN solution. It works, but that shouldn't be the final solution. Do you have any ideas on how Deutsche Telekom could fix that?
We are working with more sophisticated data providers like Rithmic and dxFeed, and we have never had any issues like this one which was raised out of nowhere 2-3 weeks before.
It is a shame that Ninjatrader refuses to add dxFeed and Rithmic (not NT Brokerage). There are other modern platforms that are open to all data providers.

Trader108 it's not related to the Deutsche Telekom and I don't think that they will help you. I use two other ISPs (not Deutsche Telekom) and now I have problems with both of them. My guess is, that the router ae2.3615.ear2.Chicago2.level3.net make problems as I saw a lot of ICMP and sometimes also TCP frame dropping and retransmissions. Perhaps the other routers are blocking this one right now or itself does for some reason - don't know. But the one who is in charge for this router is level3.net and they are the only ones who can take a deeper look into the problem. Perhaps the Deutsche Telekom is so friendly contacting them, but my providers won't mess any time for this single problem with a f*##*$§ing router in Chicago.

Hello,
Thank you all for your post.
I will be reaching back out to DTN with the information above. As mentioned by other users in this post, this situation is outside the scope of DTN and NinjaTrader since it has to do with a Level 3 router.
At the moment the best workaround would be to use a VPN service until this is resolved.
My apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

Hi NinjaTrader_Dennis, That's a great idea to “convince” DTN to find a level 3 router solution. The ISV Telekom is listening, but they can't do anything about this “very” special problem.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_Dennis View PostHello,

Hey Guys,
Happy new year to you !
I want to give you a quick update on how things are.
The thing is:
I had a couple of calls with my ISP and first the hotline gave me some generic hardware fixes, which of course did not much of a change. Until after a while they called me back two times to investigate whats going on. I explained to them everything we discussed here and they promised to talk to a Technician. If they ever did that and what they were finding out, I don't know.
But:
As of today 4th January 2023, it works again, without VPN or anything else.
I'll keep an eye on the issue and report back, if it arrives again.
Regards
