NT8 Charts Lags and Delays - Need a solution ASAP

I had similar problems with lagging charts and high slippage trade copying on my TopStep and Apex accounts, but thankfully some people in my disc groups linked me to this post and I'm so thankful they did! Fixed all my lag issues and I get zero slippage now across 20 PA accounts and 3 TopStep accounts, I'm so happy I've got a large TopStep payout on the way right now! Here's the post I listened to and so thankful that I did: https://forum.ninjatrader.com/forum/...1313809

#Attila - 2.6GHz cpu not fast enough: ignore, it’s not the issue here
VPS - same, not a latency issue: ignore relentless promotion of VPS vendors
Safe Mode
If it works in Safe Mode, try doing something else WITHOUT Chart Trader employed

Well well.. In Safe Mode Ninja runs like a wet dream (compared to normal boot). A couple other apps MUCH better than what I came to accept as normal.. Chart Trader Off doesn't imporove the normal boot behaviour. So turn everything off and back on one by one to find the cuprit..? I don't use Onedrive but do use Google drive..Originally posted by brucerobinson View Post#Attila - 2.6GHz cpu not fast enough: ignore, it’s not the issue here

Best,
Edit: Likely something that's running continuously ..Last edited by Attila; 08-22-2024, 01:02 PM.

Yes, I don’t know for sure but I think it may, in Safe Mode see which 3rd-party indicators Safe Mode has prevented from running, open in Normal Mode and then take off those indicators Safe Mode disabled, and see if responds with your Chart Trader test.

I am reffering to Windows Safe Mode. I didn't think Windows could prevent Ninjatrader indicators... Remember Ninja lag has occured with no indicators running... Maybe by "indicators" you reffering to Windows apps..?Originally posted by brucerobinson View PostYes, I don’t know for sure but I think it may, in Safe Mode see which 3rd-party indicators Safe Mode has prevented from running, open in Normal Mode and then take off those indicators Safe Mode disabled, and see if responds with your Chart Trader test.

You are probably correct but my experience has been: my home internet speed is 1gb download and 500 up, fibre to house. Speed test shows I'm running on full speed, yet at times NT8 gets throttled as well as other sites. I don't use 3rd party indicators. Since using a VDS I have had no such issues. Maybe a coincidence? I've had no lagging issues throughout the last months volatility. I think its a worthwhile test for the cost of a months subscription with no lock in contract. , my VDS is not in Chicago but Singapore Unless his laptop is a dedicated laptop for NT8 only, who know what other processors or services could be interfering with NT8. Im not endorsing any particular VPS or defending Ninjatrader, just relating my experience. My 2 cents worth, up to the individual.Originally posted by brucerobinson View Post#Attila - 2.6GHz cpu not fast enough: ignore, it’s not the issue here

Same for me, I had terrible slowness when running ninja on my local computer but since switching to NinjaMobileTrader VPS, it's been very smooth even through market open volatility and new events. The zero slippage on copied trades to multiple prop accounts is also a huge plus. No affiliation, just a very happy customer.

#Attila, if I understand you correctly you have run in Windows Safe Mode (as opposed to NT Safe Mode, which what I was intending, #Backtester’s suggestion iirc) and NT works I.e. no data loading or responsiveness delays?
If so, that suggests Windows Safe Mode is disabling something which is interfering with NT.
My money would be on a driver, but above my pay grade.
If you ran in Windows Safe Mode as above, I’d suggest run in Windows Normal Mode with NT in Safe Mode and see if it works as in Windows Safe Mode and if so send your Log and Trace files in to Support and ask them to see if they can identify what NT Safe Mode is disabling that is the cause of slow performance.
It seems like you’ve confirmed the cause is something Windows Safe Mode disables, and that your cpu, latency/bandwidth etc are not the primary cause of what’s in your video.
Given that you seem to have confirmed it is something in your Windows configuration which is not playing nicely with NT, question is what and how to fix.
Of course, as helpfully suggested ‘outsourcing’ hosting NT to a vps which is proven to run NT rather than doing it yourself has advantages and will likely circumvent your pc-specific problem if that’s preferred by you.

Correct.. Windows Safe Mode. I am not aware of Ninja's Safe mode.. So my computer is fine... Turned off ALL startup programs and Ninja runs fine in Normal Windows.. So some untility is causing the problem. As days go by will turn on essential startup apps one at a time to find the culprit.Originally posted by brucerobinson View Post#Attila, if I understand you correctly you have run in Windows Safe Mode (as opposed to NT Safe Mode, which what I was intending, #Backtester’s suggestion iirc) and NT works I.e. no data loading or responsiveness delays?

How many strategies are you running?Originally posted by Attila View Post2.6 Ghz way too slow..? Ninjatrader recommends 2.0 Ghz. (minimum is 1.0 Ghz). As I have a full time occupation besides trading I will deal with this later.. For now swing trading is fine.
We offer affordable and fast servers, starting at $20 for the first month.
On ultra-fast AMD EPYC processors.
