    okay, thanks. i'll change that.

For example, if TrailStopDistance is set to -4, this means that CurrentStopPrice will be assigned a value of the Close price minus 4 ticks. So the initial stop order would be placed 4 ticks below the entry and trail from there.

in your example, if you only want that -4 to happen once. what do you set the frequency at? because a 1. is a frequency of every 1 tick it moves correct? i just want it to appear once when the profit level is met.

      Hello SteveReiza,

The frequency is how many ticks of profit before the stop price is moved up to the current price minus the distance.

When the frequency is set to 1, the trail would occur with every tick of profit.

        thanks for the reply.

so, if an action occurs during the first tick of the bar. the price at the moment is not reflected. the price at the close of the bar is documented. yah this changes things because profit targets and stop losses are tick by price so results could vary depending on how big that price change is from first tick of bar to the close. that's something i'll circle back to.

thanks for the reply and the clarification.

if 1 is for a trail of every tick of profit. what is a trail that doesn't trail? i don't want it to trail. i just want the stop there after the price trigger. it can keep profiting i don't want it to change. i just want it static, set in place.

            Hello SteveReiza,

The CurrentTriggerPrice and CurrentStopPrice are assigned prices when the entry market order is submitted. If the entry happens to be submitted on the first tick of a new bar, the price of that tick would be used in the calculation. If the entry is submitted in the middle of the bar when Calculate.OnPriceChange or Calculate.OnEachTick the price at the time the entry is submitted is still used for the calculations.

A stop that does not have the price modified would not trail.
