    I don`t think this code will work out

    I think,on the contrary, it would fire every 'zapped' it spots

      It is not a matter of opinion, as to whether it is correct: that is a matter of code. As to which is clearer, that may be a matter of opinion, but in most coders opinions that I know of, despite their equivalence, "not (zapped[0] equal to zero)" makes less lexical sense than "zapped[0] is not equal to 0".
