    Unable to open NT8 (access to log file is denied)

    I tried to open NT8 after not touching the programme for quite some time. When I open the programme, an error pops up saying that access to the log file is denied (the error message can be seen in the image attached). I've seen previous threads on this issue where customer support requests the person email to them the log file with today's date, but the latest log file in the folder is from 20190818 (which I believe is when I last opened NT8). Thank you in advance for helping me with this issue!

    Hello jxs_xrj,

    Access denied generally means that NinjaTrader cannot write to the file.

    Does this occur after restarting the computer?

    Is there antivirus on the computer preventing NinjaTrader from writing files?

    Does the Documents\NinjaTrader 8 folder have permissions for the windows user to write files in all sub folders?

    If you delete the files in Documents\NinjaTrader 8\log and restart the computer do you get the same error?

      Hello,
      i have the exact same issue, i tried to open NT8 after a week or so and got that error. i tried to reinstall and restart the computer but i did not solve the issue. Did you were able to solve it?

        You can create a new windows user profile if your user profile is corrupted and has incorrect file security settings.

              Si eso no funciona, entonces sólo dele permiso a esa carpeta. Escriba en la barra de Buscar del computador "Controla el acceso a la carpeta" y agrega la de NinjaTrader. Siga las instrucciones de las imágenes.
