Programatic Journal Entry

Hello...

Is it possible to write a journal entry programatically within a strategy? As my strategy does its thing, I want to write some conditions out to the Journal so I can forward test a few things I am working on.

Of course, it does not have to be the Journal, but I do need to be able to write to something other than the Ouput Window so I can keep it forever under "real" trading condtions.

If not, I can stream out to a file.

Writing to a file is easy.

In #region Using declarations, add this:

using System.IO;

in #region variables, put this:
privatestring path = Cbi.Core.UserDataDir.ToString() + "test.txt";

Then in onbarupdate;

string line = ToDay(Time[0]) + "," + variable + "," + morevariables + Environment.NewLine;
File.AppendAllText(path, line);}

Unfortunately it is not possible to write to the Journal.
