    Hello Heece,

due to relocation, I am going to evaluate a hosted enviorment, could you please provide a quick update on your experience so far? any recomandation about a hosting company? what configuration you used? what OS (Does NT work on Windows Server 2003 or 2008)?

any info would be highly valuable as it would be my first time working with a hosted server...

    kind regards,
    Nir

Also if you could suggest the

By the way, on the macros side... let me update others looking at this. I've found Macro Express to be the best solution out there, works great, consistent, easy to program.

I'm going to open up an account with IB, and trade the next month with IB/TDA side by side. It'll be a great way to evaluate actual results.

I'm still evaluating the hosting, it's 50 euros per month for hosting with my provider. The advantage of them is that my connection to the hosted computer (remote desktop) would be very fast.

What I'm doing now is I'm using an old desktop and that works ok for now but I'm debating if I want to spend the money on hosting or if I want to just keep it at my home. My internet connectivity is very reliable but I imagine if it went out one day I could miss a trade that would pay for a year of hosting.

So I'm still interested in this subject too.

        cunparis,

I've looked at Amazon's EC2 cloud for a hosting solution and also some others (less notable). I am hoping NT7 will be out soon and if it delivers on promises then I believe I won't need the cloud anymore.

From a reliability+internet speed stand-point, consider the TP-Link TL-R480T+. I bought mine for under $150. It's a load-balancing/failover/back dual-WAN solution. Has many other features as well. I have DSL+Cable (FiOS when I can) and now get the best benefits of both --- load balanced speed, and automatic seamless failover in case of an outage on one or the other.
