    Salty,

In the market analyzer window you have to select "Indicator" from the top left window and press "New". Now select "Indicator" from the bottom left window. On the right window under Indicator you can select SpreadDisplay from the drop down box. Make sure under Data Series you change the Type to "Tick" and the value to 1. Then press apply and okay.

After that you can also select properties in the Market Analyzer by right clicking. In here set the "# of bars to look back" to 2. This will minimize the amount of computer resources used (you don't need to load data for this).

    let me know.

      Is this a bug?

I get the feeling that I may have stumbled upon a bug ... I've tried what MrLogik suggested and still have the issue with the charts not updating. For example right now I'm looking at the:
      - "MB Trading Navigator" which is updating nicely, showing 1.4522
      - "Market Analyzer" which is updating nicely, showing 1.4522 (as above)
      - $EURUSD chart which is NOT updating, showing me the price from 08:30 today in the morning which stopped updating when it was at 1.4548

Does anybody have any other suggestions?

I'm attaching the log from the Control Centre:

My suggestion was just so you don't lose data when the charts stop updating. It was not a fix for freezing charts.

Try to set the "Last Date" in the "Format Data Series" window to today.

Sometimes after you lose the connection to MB the charts freeze.
This doesn't happen if you're using a LIVE account (MBs demo account is flaky), or at least it doesn't happen to me.

          Hello,

What version of the Navigator are you using? Please use version 11.1.0.2.

You can download the correct version here:

If you are using the correct version please right click the chart>Properties and confirm that your session ends and begins times are set to 12:00 AM.

Also, are you getting any errors in you log tab?

The session times are set to 12:00 AM as indicated by yourself ... they always have been.

I've posted the log in my earlier post and it doesn't appear that I have any errors. Your interpretation my be different, please take a look at it.

And your suggestion works perfectly ... the data is all there, just not being displayed correctly.

And I'm using a LIVE account from MB.

When you say "And your suggestion works perfectly ... the data is all there, just not being displayed correctly", do you mean that the chart is updating now?

In your previous post you state "$EURUSD chart which is NOT updating, showing me the price from 08:30 today in the morning which stopped updating when it was at 1.4548". This leads me to believe that the chart not updating was the issue.

Can you clarify, please tell me how the chart is not displaying properly now? A screen shot will help.

After you took mrlogik's advice did you try right clicking the chart and reloading the historical data again?

                Ben,

I believe he means that the data is being collected via the Market Analyzer, but its not displayed on the chart.

                Salt,

Whenever this happens to me I usually just set the last date to today, or close and open a new chart. This is a problem between MB and NT that is known about.

only after a restart of the NT application will the charts come back.

already provided in the first post of this thread.

that I did not try yet ... next time it freezes I will give it a go ... but it would hard to consider this as a workaround to the problem.

If this is a know issue then will a fix be provided? If so, then do you have any ideas as to when?

"only after a restart of the NT application will the charts come back", indicates to me that you have experienced a data feed disconnection and that is what caused the issue. If you experience a data feed disconnection with MBT you will need to restart NT each time.

Our development team is aware of it, however the issue is with MBT's API and there is nothing we can do about it at this time.

                        salty,

Rather than restart, just open another chart and see if the data is correct on that chart.

                        this has been my experience.

Ben, I get the feeling that we have now taken a step backward again in our understanding. Imagine one window (Market Analyser) that correctly shows correct real time values while another window (Chart) that freezes at some point in time. Now how can you claim that I have a data feed diconnection?!?!

I'll try this ... thanks for the suggestion.

I'm only concerned about the ability of using NT as a automated trading platform ... If I have to babysit the application then my strategies may be impacted.

I am having this exact same problem when charting the ES real time with MBTRading. Suddenly the chart just stops updating, meanwhile the connection is fine and i can still see real time quotes in NT.

Is there any known solution for this? It happens rather frequently and makes things extraordinarily difficult.

If I open a new chart the data is there and it begins updating again.

I've actually given up on Ninja due to this problem. Still unresolved
