    open account connections

    Hi,

    on one of my NT7 platforms the account connection won't open. I need to change the password, but none of the connections will open ( also end of day replay etc when trying to click change /add etc )

    What can be the issue here?

    Thank you for your post,

    This usually an indication of a corrupt installation. To resolve this, you will need to uninstall and reinstall NinjaTrader.

    Note: This will not remove any settings, workspaces or data.
    First, go to Help > License key and copy your key and save it in as safe location, such as your desktop.

    1. Close NInjaTrader

    2. Then from the Start menu select --> Control Panel --> Add and Remove Programs.


    3. From Add and Remove Programs select NinjaTrader 7 and click Remove.

    4. Once these steps are completed, download NT7 from the link below:

    Please let us know if you are able to get up and running after the reinstall.

      Eric,

      thanks that helped.

      I used to have the 64 version. Downloading options are NT7 & NT8 ( beta ). So how do i get the 64-version?

        Hello robje737,

        As long as you have a 64-bit operating system or greater, the 64-bit version will be installed automatically when you run the installation wizard.

        If you don't see 64-bit option, you can restore it by repairing the NinjaTrader installation (Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs > right-click on NinjaTrader > repair).

          Excellent, thanks.

          I was wondering since my backtesting is awfully slow. It almost immediately shows the message ' doesn't respond'

          The only thing i have open is one chart ES, 365 days of tick data, and conducting a backtest in the chart.

            I suggest applying our Performance Tips to your workspace, as they will be able to improve the behavior you're seeing.

            If those don't help, the next steps would to to troubleshoot the issue via process of elimination to determine what is causing the platform to go into a not responding state.

            For example, if you use third-party indictors or add ons, if these are removed -- does this improve?

            If so, you can test further by individually re-adding or removing the indicators or add-ons until you can determine which is causing the behavior your seeing.

              how can i see the 64 bit version, where can i find the info?

                You can check what version you're running via Help > About.

                Try going to Start > Search. Search "NinjaTrader." If you don't see the 64.-bit version listed, try the steps I outlined below to get it back.

                If you don't see 64-bit option, you can restore it by repairing the NinjaTrader installation (Start > Control Panel > Add / Remove Programs > right-click on NinjaTrader > Repair).
