Connecting to IB times out ...opens and closes IB and loop

    Hello futuretrader8,

    Unfortunately there is no ETA yet when we support a new TWS version.

    When possible, we update the supported version of IB'’s Traders Work Station at regular intervals with each new NinjaTrader release. Due to the number of releases IB has, we may be behind their current release, simply because we may not update our platform at the same time they do.

    It is also important to note that we can only begin testing new versions of TWS once those releases have been publicly made available - this also contributes to the time required to update to the supported version of TWS.

      They are on the same timetable as the NT6.5 to NT 7 update. End result is it will take way way way longer than you could ever guess and further more the only reply will be endless "no ETA at this time"

        Jason this problem has been going on since the upgrade to 918 on May 27, 2011. Since that time NinjaTrader Version 7.0.1000.7. was updated on 08-17-2011. 3 months latter!!

        So its not like NT have not had time to address it or an upgrade to roll out a fix. What you are saying above is incorrect is it not??

          I assume you meant TWS 917 - we started to support TWS 917 with NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.6 on May 27.

          The statement you reference is not incorrect. Please note that it includes "When possible". Unfortunately we did not support a new TWS version with NinjaTrader 7.0.1000.7.

            So after 3 months of not being able to connect to the current version of TWS AND and an upgrade of NT it was still not "possible" to fix it?

              Yes, unfortunately we have not been able to support a later version of TWS so far.

                      Unfortunately, I am not sure how to interpret your email. I searched the forum for a thread named "Still not fixed with TWS 918.9B", but I could not find any results. Could you please clarify?

                      You will need to have TWS 917 in order to connect to IB in NinjaTrader. You can download and install it from the IB connection guide at the link below.

                        Hello ,

                        My mistake , I meant the installed TWS version was 918.9B so it was the same issue that the one described in the Thread with TWS version 917.

                        As per your advice , I reversed back to TWS 917 and NT7 connected fine to my TWS paper account

                        The issue is closed ... wating for the fix in future TWS release
