"Login Failed" for Zen-Fire live account

    "Login Failed" for Zen-Fire live account

    Broker: Mirus
    Data Provider: Zen-Fire
    NT: 7.0.1000.4

    This is a live account. I was disconnected from my connection almost half an hour ago and have not been able to get back on since.

    My internet connection is absolutely fine and running smoothly.

    This is not the first time this has happened and I would like to resolve this problem immediately. What are some concrete steps I can take to diagnose this and move forward? Do I need to update to the most recent version of NT7?

    Edit: So I shut down NT7 and re-started and it connected right away. Why would this be? Is there another way of re-connecting without shutting down NT7?

    I failed too tonight with ZenFire/live account , different broker

    9:32 disconnect, tried reconnecting.

    I shut down, and then restarted, and got Error 13:

    I rebooted my machine and was successfully connected at 10:29:50 pm EST.

    it appears that Zenfire FAILED.

      Hello ephilip and sledge,

      Please note that NinjaTrader does not dictate when a connection is lost. It operates like a radio receiver in that it receives a signal from your broker and then displays/reports these signals back to you. When a connection is lost, it is the broker's API that determines this and reports this to NinjaTrader, which in turn reports this back to the trader.

      The common problems that contribute to this are:

      - ISP issues
      - hardware firewall issues changing IP addresses frequently
      - Dynamic ISP address switching the address frequently intraday. Usually this happens once a week but you may want to check with your ISP. If they do change daily, a static IP address may work.
      - With Windows XP SP2, if you have more than 10 open TCPIP socket connections open (10 programs making connections through the internet) windows will randomly shut down some connections
      - Broker servers having problems
      - Software, such as (corporate) firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software, that could be interfering the connection.

      I am not sure what caused the disconnection last night. However, since you both experienced the disconnection and you use different brokers, it would indicate the disconnection was caused by Zen-Fire.

      You could manually disconnect/re-connect via Control Center-->File-->Connect/Disconnect without restarting NinjaTrader.
