    Hi Bruce:
Sorry for the confusion on getting your license to work properly again. I am still not sure why it stopped working and that contributed to Mike's initial reply not being accurate since he assumed it was newly created. Just glad to have you back to normal.
Specific to the migration, I have included a link below that has instructions for making the migration but it will require you to uninstall NT7 since these procedure is made available on installation of NT7.

Please let me know if further assistance is needed and thank you for using NinjaTrader!
    Sincerely,
    John

Thanks, John. Do you know if there's any way of adding trades back after I eventually update to NT 7? I did a few trades in NT 7 and they're not visible in NT 6.5 because I couldn't use it. I like to keep track of my trades. When I update to NT 7 eventually if I uninstall the one I have now and reinstall it I'll lose those trades. Is there anyone there that would know how to maybe copy and paste this part of the info back into the file that tracks this? Or is there another way to do it? Do you know which file or files are involved? Thanks again for your help.

      Best,
      Bruce

Bruce, to get access to your 6.5 trading history you would need to migrate your database over to NT7 - you can exit NT7, go to MyDocuments\NinjaTrader 7\log and delete the Install.xml file...then restart NT7, it will offer you to migrate over again then. To see what can be migrated over, please see our guide on that topic - http://www.ninjatrader.com/migration-guide-v7.php

          Hi, Bertrand
Thanks for your help. If you read my question closely what I'm saying is that I have some trades that I did in NT 7 that only exist in that version. If I delete that file and import the NT 6.5 files won't the trades I did in NT 7 get erased for good? Is there any way to avoid this? Or will doing what you said save the trades I did in NT 7 a week or so ago? I want to import my trade execution history from NT 6.5 but still keep the history of the few trades I did last week in NT 7. Thanks for your help.

BTW, one of the best traders I knew was from Deutschland. His nickname was Ingo.

Thanks for the clarification Bruce - I would then export the few trades / executions you did to Excel from the Account Performance review section, do the migration of the 6.5 DB as outlined and then readd the exported trades from NT7.

Oh, okay. Thanks, Bertrand. So I can add trades from Excel back into NT 7? Is there somewhere where it shows how to do that? Thanks. Hope your day's been great.

You're welcome, hope you enjoy your day, too - unfortunately you can't directly import them from Excel, they need to be added manually as shown here - http://www.ninjatrader.com/support/h...utions_tab.htm

Perfect. Thanks, Bertrand. That's exactly what I was looking for. Enjoy your afternoon.

                    Hi, Guys

I tried to migrate my trades, etc. over to NT 7 which I had used some, from NT 6.5. I copied the trades I had done in NT 7 to Excel so I can add them back later. I deleted the Install.xml file as instructed below. When I reopened NT 7 as instructed it asked me if I wanted to add the files from NT 6.5 and I clicked okay. But now all of the instruments from either version are missing. And when I try to add any in the Instrument Manager, when I click on the left arrow to add it, I get the error message "NinjaTrader has detected an error and needs to shut down, etc." And no instrument is added. I want to trade tomorrow. Please help me out.

Also none of the trade info from NT 6.5 seems to have been imported. When I try to generate any in the Account Performance section there is now no data at all. When I agreed to import the data it was importing historical chart info, which I don't actually care about, and after a while a window popped up which says, "Error on updating DB: The provider could not determine the Object value. For example, the row was just created, the default for the Object column was not available, and the consumer had not yet set a new Object value."

                    Thanks.

I installed the new NT 73 Beta version to see if that would make a difference, but got the same error messages as above and it won't add any instruments. And after creating new charts and reopening NT 7, it says it can't open them because they don't exist in the database. All of these kind of problems is why I wanted to keep NT 6.5 for now. But I do want to switch to NT 7. But what would you do if you had all of these problems. I guess I'll use 6.5 for now until these issues get straightened out But there is the issue with Windows 7 sp1 coming up. Thanks.

I installed NT 7.3 again without migrating the old files and now it seems okay so far. I guess it has something to do with this. But I do want to import this data for the Account Performance section. Don't care about workspaces, etc. Just trades.

Bruce - could you please contact me at support at ninjatrader dot com Attn Bertrand directly and attach your most recent trace / log files found in the MyDocuments > NinjaTrader 7 > log / trace folders? Alternatively Help > Mail to Support would work, too for this.

                        Thanks in advance,

Thanks, Bertrand. I just used NT 6.5 today as the charts weren't working in NT 7.3. When I would change instruments in a chart, the new instrument had no data. And then when I went back to the previous instrument, the chart wouldn't bring up that data either. Restoring Historical Data did nothing. I'll email you this weekend maybe and we'll see what we can figure out.

                          Have a great weekend.

Doing the same thing today. Charts have no data once the instrument is changed. This is in NT 6.5 now.

Bruce, do you see this for all symbols? Which datafeed provider / broker are you using? Which errors (if any) are listed your Control Center's log tab?

Have you already sent your diagnostic files for review across to us? If yes, which ticket # did you get assigned so I might take a look into?

                              Thanks,

Hi I shut it down and reopened it and now it's okay again. I have to go, but I'll send the log the next time it does it. When I change the symbol in any chart in the drop down menu the data disappears and then won't even bring up the original data the chart displayed originally. I'm with Mirus with the Zen-Fire feed. Thanks for your help.
