IB stops Support of TWS 906 on December 14th 2012

I´m using the last official supported version of Interactivebrokers TWS that i can download on your homepage. Today the TWS started to send popups that
"The version of the application you are running needs to be upgraded, as it will be desupported on 20101214 !!!

Please make it possible to use the current version and a supported version of the TWS along with ninjatrader 7.

    Thank you !

        Hello,

There is no public update for this at this time. Some users have upgraded to IB 911 with no issues. The only issue reported was that the auto start does not function. Therefor you would need to start TWS first and login then connect with NinjaTrader.

The cutoff date for the supported TWS is tomorrow.
I don't think all these NT users trading on real IB accounts (including myself) will be happy using a version of TWS not supported by NT.

NT guys, how far are you with the update?

          Thanks

Can you describe in more detail what doesn't work with 911.3? I read the other thread, but it wasn't clear to me, as I'm new to using TWS with NT. I have an Advisor account with three sub-accounts. Will I be able to trade via NT to all three accounts? Is it just the balance/equity position display in TWS that you can't get to or are you not able to trade?

I also have an Advisor account at IB and TWS works just fine until I use the API to connect to NT. What happens is that after connecting to TWS, the account data in TWS is "locked" to the last subaccount in the list.

It sounds like you can still trade the IB accounts via NT, but you can't use TWS while NT is connected? That sounds like a big problem, don't get me wrong, but I just want to know if I can at least still trade?

Steve's experience is correct according to our info, you should be still able to execute trades to the subaccounts but would not be able to review positions in TWS for all accounts. This bug has been confirmend by IB as being looked into.

I am using IB 's Booktrader to execute my orders, not the NT DOM, so I downloaded TWS version 906 that was posted in another thread (see link below). It allows me to have the functionality that I need including being able to view the subaccounts.

                      Search for Gregiii's post from

NOTE: IB only supports TWS version 911 and 912, so if there are any problems they will wash their hands of it.

Go to this thread and then go down to post #38 from Gregiii for the link to the TWS Version 906 software that works. Save it into the JTS directory, rename the current JTS to something else (such as JTS-911), then rename JTS-906 to JTS. Restart TWS and you should be working.

Any progress on this? Please, please, please NT try to resolve this with IB. I don't particularly care whose "fault" this is, just want it fixed before committing to the NT platform

                          Hi,

At this time TWS 911 is supported so you can use this version.

Maybe I misunderstood. Will 911 still show Steve's below described behavior, where the TWS gets "locked" to a sub-account when the API is connected, thus making NT unable to direct trades across sub-accounts?

The "it's IB's problem" answer is not helping anyone. Perhaps they modified their TWS implementation that caused NT's approach to break, but that's not the same as saying there's nothing NT can do to adapt. I also use a VB.net based API application and it's easily able to switch between sub accounts. The API still supports sub-accounts, and maybe NT needs to make modifications to adapt to that requirement. Not telling your developers how to write their code, but I am questioning whether it's really something that is "totally out of your hands"

                              Thanks in advance
