mine froze also. thank god was not in trade. i just cant trust ninja w/ zen fire this morning. this is happening too much and i just dont think a cut optic cable is the "reason" lol this time. any time high volume hits, zen fire on the tf slows then push a ton of data thru all at once. if you cant trust your data, how can you trade? i got an idea, if you supply data and data only... you should do it without fault.

I had the same problem right after the news, it restarted and it seems ok now, my concern is that this is happening to frequently and to make matters worse, there is no notification that you stopped receiving data, there was no connection lost waring and the connected message stayed green.

i agree this is getting to be crazy. i have built my entire trading career around ninja, with my indicators to system. and ninja is holding me hostage to one data provider for trading using ninja. oh i could set up a side account with out zen but then i could not trade on the chart and do all the things that make ninja amazing. ninja ... get your act together.

Exactly. Frozen data really, really doesn't work, especially on mornings like today when the market is so volatile. Like I mentioned a few minutes before I had 7 active contracts. This is more than I usually trade but even with 2 or 3 you can lose a lot of money in a minute of two if you don't know what's happening. Please fix these problems someone. Is this broker related or..............? Thanks.Originally posted by ddhstl007 View Postmine froze also. thank god was not in trade. i just cant trust ninja w/ zen fire this morning. this is happening too much and i just dont think a cut optic cable is the "reason" lol this time. any time high volume hits, zen fire on the tf slows then push a ton of data thru all at once. if you cant trust your data, how can you trade? i got an idea, if you supply data and data only... you should do it without fault.

As I mentioned YM, ES, and NQ were all okay. It was just just TF that froze. But like you're saying there was no indication that was happening other than to just look at it. The data on the charts froze and also in the Super DOM. It's a drag that this keeps happening. I just want to trade and absolutely need to know that everything is working. As I mentioned before I lost $1000 and another time $1300 in the last few months when my internet connection went down. So that wasn't a Zen-Fire feed issue. And when it locked up today I went directly to my open browser and went to Google.com to see if it would load and it was fine. Then when I came back to NT I saw that it was just TF that was frozen. Ongoing.Originally posted by pimind View PostI had the same problem right after the news, it restarted and it seems ok now, my concern is that this is happening to frequently and to make matters worse, there is no notification that you stopped receiving data, there was no connection lost waring and the connected message stayed green.

At least no one here was creamed due to this problem. At least we haven't heard from anyone yet. So we can chuckle. But this is a real problem and I wasn't laughing when I lost my internet connection and lost $2300 all together. Onward and upward................ or maybe downward depending on the economic reports and surprise announcements like Intel's.

TF datafeed and order issues
I had the same problems with TF/Zen earlier, was short, lost datafeed and DOM, however while it was frozen and in the process of calling my broker I heard order filled, and even though I had no live data, the limit exit on my short still filled. Hope that doesnt happen again though. Not sure if my stop would have filled or not if the mkt had gone the other way.

Trade Station had data during that time fyi (not that I'm a fan of TS)Originally posted by bce111 View PostJust received this message from my broker:
The Nybot had an issue and that is why only the TF was affected. Zen-Fire did not have any issues. The issue looks to be resolved.
So maybe that was it.

there should be some kind of required errors and omissions insurance that is required for ; your broker, data provider, exchange. to just say its the traders problem and risk is out dated. if we know zen lost it, they pay. if today was nybot, they should pay. period. so many things stand against us as traders and outside loss of data should never be a worry in this day and age. they take our fees no matter what so they should cover our losses when issues on their side happen. no excuses because they accept none from us.

Thanks for sharing that. Good to know. I just sent this email to the ICE Help Desk. I'll let you know when I hear back from them.Originally posted by bobbethgoo View PostTrade Station had data during that time fyi (not that I'm a fan of TS)
"Hi, Guys
Hope you're having a good morning. I'm a futures trader out in California and I trade the TF contract mainly. I use the NinjaTrader software and it's fed with the Zen-Fire feed. This morning around 10 AM EST the data for TF locked up. And this lasted about 5 minutes. I have charts up for TF as well as NQ, YM, and ES, and the data for these other contracts wasn't affected. And I also have a trading module where the data locked up for TF too. My broker informed me there were problems with the TF data feed from you guys this morning. Is that right? I was trying to figure out where the source of the problem was. There have been issues lately with the data feed from Zen-Fire. Obviously frozen data doesn't work for a trader. Glad I wasn't in any trades at the time. Fortunately I had just closed my 7 contract trade, more than usual, a few minutes before this.
Thanks for your help.
Best,
Bruce"

Glad you managed to get out of there. But as you say, what could have happened if the market went the wrong way? It was so volatile this morning.Originally posted by SWFL Trader View PostI had the same problems with TF/Zen earlier, was short, lost datafeed and DOM, however while it was frozen and in the process of calling my broker I heard order filled, and even though I had no live data, the limit exit on my short still filled. I am curious why you feel we are holding you hostage to one data provider when we support many.Originally posted by ddhstl007 View Posti agree this is getting to be crazy. i have built my entire trading career around ninja, with my indicators to system. and ninja is holding me hostage to one data provider for trading using ninja. oh i could set up a side account with out zen but then i could not trade on the chart and do all the things that make ninja amazing. ninja ... get your act together.RayNinjaTrader Customer Service
