    Question about P/L notification.

    Hi,
    Can you tell me if there is any possibility to see the P/L in points and/or the value of the trade?
    In the free version I can not find a place where the P/L in ticks/points or value is written.
    If there is a tab where P/L is written, is that in US$ and/or in Euro’s since I trade also the European markets?

      You can view your PnL in USD as well as percentage by going to the account performance tab of the control center.

        Several Q's

        Hello Support Team,

        I saw some of the instruction webinars yesterday and have some questions:

        1. Can I change the time display of a chart into local time?
        My PC is working on GMT+1 but I would like to see the ES in local EST time if possible.

        2. Do you have a link or instructions for Break out/Fade entry steps?

        3. Do you have maybe an explaination of the different colored horzontal lines of the Woodies CCI?

        4. Is there a way to clear the screen instantly and get the charts back in one time?
        I can clear my screen in one time, but I have to place back each chart piece by piece.

        5. When the trailing stop moves up on Ninja..does it modify the original order held at the broker? if not and submits another closing order, will it close the original broker held order?
        I have a live acc. by IB.

        6. When I buy a full trade licence from N7 I understood I have to buy the strategie runner separate. Its a 3th party who supplies that. Is that correct? And if true, how much costs this Str. runner?

          1. Can I change the time display of a chart into local time?
          My PC is working on GMT+1 but I would like to see the ES in local EST time if possible.
          Since NinjaTrader builds your charts based on your Local PC clock, you would need to set your clock to EST from the Windows time settings. If you do not want to change your PC clock to another time zone, you can also recalculate your session begins and ends times in the chart properties to reflect the open and close to EST time in contrast to your local PC clock.

          2. Do you have a link or instructions for Break out/Fade entry steps?
          One of the great features of NinjaTrader is its ability to submit two entry orders, one which will cancel if the other is filled.
          You can accomplish a breakout/breakdown approach by:
          • Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to enable this function
          • For your first order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
          • Submit your stop order to buy above the market
          • For your second order, select the desired option from the "ATM Strategy" drop down list
          • Submit your stop order to sell below the market
          • CRITICAL Right click in the SuperDOM and select the menu "OCO Order" to disable this function



          3. Do you have maybe an explaination of the different colored horzontal lines of the Woodies CCI?
          Unfortunately I cannot speak on this subject as it would be considered trading advice. Perhaps another member can comment on how to trade using the Woodies CCI indicator. Alternatively, there is a wealth of great information through other resources online on how to use the Woodies CCI trading system.


          4. Is there a way to clear the screen instantly and get the charts back in one time?
          I can clear my screen in one time, but I have to place back each chart piece by piece.
          Since all of your charts are separate windows, they all have to be opened individually when you minimize all to the desktop. One workaround you could use is to create a blank default workspace and when you go to minimize all of your chart windows, simply select your blank workspace from File--> Workspaces which will effectively hide all of your workspace windows. Please review our Help Guide article on Managing Workspaces

          5. When the trailing stop moves up on Ninja..does it modify the original order held at the broker? if not and submits another closing order, will it close the original broker held order?
          I have a live acc. by IB.
          The auto trail and auto breakeven stop modifications will be updated at the exchange. You need to have NinjaTrader connected in order for these modifications to take place. If your PC were to disconnect, the stop will remain at the exchange at the last value it was modified at.

          6. When I buy a full trade licence from N7 I understood I have to buy the strategie runner separate. Its a 3th party who supplies that. Is that correct? And if true, how much costs this Str. runner?
          A full license for NinjaTrader will have all of the features you have in your demo license, in addition to the ability to trade live. If you were to buy a direct edition license it is likely that you will not have access to ATM Strategies or NinjaScript strategies. NinjaScript strategies can be custom programmed by you, or purchased from a 3rd party. Please let me know if I misunderstood your questions.

            Session time template?

            Hello,

            Tnx again for the reply on the prior questions.

            I have a few more.

            When I make a workspace with a special made time session in a chart and I send this template to somebody else, is this special made session time also running on that other persons PC?
            Or does the special time session jump on default, because this special session template is not on his pc?

            Can I send a special made time session send separate to somebody else as a template? If I can, where can I find this session time template? (I did not find any in the Ninja folders)

              Hi stockjoker,

              Your workspace files do not save the session settings. These settings are saved in the chart properties. If you would like to share these settings to another computer or user, you would have to share the chart template.

              Please review our Help Guide article on saving Chart Templates:


              These files are located in (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\templates\chart\

              Within this directory you will see your templates saved as .xml files with the name you provided. You can copy these to another computer while making sure to restore them to the same exact path on the 2nd computer.

              In addition, if you'd like to share a workspace, which contains the layout of your charts and other NinjaTrader windows, you would can find these files saved in (My) Documents\NinjaTrader 6.5\workspaces

                Building a Strategie

                Hi,

                I look for somebody who can make/build a strategie in N7.
                Based on price crossing of MA and conditions in Woodies CCA. (all indicators in N7)

                When conditons are there, it must activate an ATM stratgie which I made already.

                Do you know anybody who can do that?
                I'm not familiar with doing that. Willing to pay for it.

                When will N7 approx. be relased to do live trading with it? I have indicators running on 7 and I don't want to go back to 6.5. I should loose the indicators.

                  We do not have an official release data for NT V7, however as we are on release 21 of the beta program, we are on the tail end of this process and you should expect a release soon.

                    Hotkeys and more

                    Hello Supportteam,

                    I have some questions.

                    Last weekend I was doing a lot of Backtesting with the Replaydata. (N7)
                    For some reason many times my charts colapsed. The candles were compressed and it was difficult to get tge candles on the correct place. So I had to open a new chart and then it went Ok for 10/15 minutes and it happend again.

                    I had only 1 100Ticks chart with Woodies CCI and 2 SMA lines in it.

                    Any suggestion to avoid this?
                    Is this a common problem during playback?
                    On one moment I could not start N7 anymore and I was adviced to Install the repair download. I did that and still I could not start it. Then I Reinstalled N7 and installed a new one again. It now seemed some datafiles were corrupt.

                    I placed the Ninja 7 folder on an other safe place and then I could start N7 again.
                    I placed back each folder piece by piece.

                    Now it worked again but I lost all my Sessiontime templates and ATM strategies.

                    Anyway it took me a few hours to have it operational. How can I save the lost items as described before? ATM and Sessiontime should be also in the template folders I believe?

                    The Hotkeys for Order Entries are still in the list after I downloaded a new N7, but they are not active anymore. They don't work. How can I make the work again?

                    I want to buy the live version of N7. I have programs running on that version, so no option to buy 6.5. Can I trade already live with the N7 Dom?

                    1 Suggestion for the Replay Recorder.
                    It needs an extra button as the speed up button.
                    Now I can anly speed up and not slow down a few steps when I'm in the speedmode.
                    Only back to normal speed.

                      Hello Supportteam,

                      I forgot 1 more question.

                      I heard from some people there exist already a automated tradingsystem based on Woodies CCI. I looked in several corners of the Forum but could not found it.

                      Do you know if this is true and if it is on the forum somewhere?

                        Hello stockjoker,

                        Thank you for your post.

                        When running the replay data, you will want to make sure that your indicator properties have the "Auto Scale" value to "False". When this option is set to true, it will automatically re-scale your charts to fit your SMAs or whatever indicator you are viewing. Sometimes, the scaling will get off from your chart bars when it is set to auto scale which is likely what was causing your bars to shrink.

                        Your templates are saved in the NinjaTrader database. If there was corruption in this database, it would not be possible to restore these setting.

                        I would suggest making sure to do a backup for your templates by going to File--> Utilities--> Backup to make sure you have a stable copy of these files for the future.

                        You will need to re-create your session templates, ATM templates and custom Hot Keys you had programmed.

                        Although you can trade live with NinjaTrader 7 we would like to remind you that it still beta software and as such, there is a higher risk of unexpected situations that can arise that can adversely effect your ability to manage orders and open positions. If you trade live, please do so conservatively and with caution.

                          HotKeys

                          Goodmorning Supportteam,

                          Thanks fot the great help again.

                          Still a question.

                          I tried to re make my Short Keys for order placement again (since I lost the settings after I had to re download N7 again) but they do not work anymore.

                          Simple hotkeys for order executions like Market Buy Ctrl/Arrow Up and Market Sell Ctrl/Arrow down. I made them in the prior N7 and they did work perfect.

                          Now for some unknown reason they don't do their job anymore. Do I have to acivate something else on an other place to allow the Hotkeys to execute their function?

                          Other default Hotkeys still work. I did not check them all offcourse.

                          Any suggestion?

                            Hello Riny,

                            Likely, you do not have 'Use order entry hot keys' enabled. Can you please go to Control Center-->Tools-->Options-->General-tab and enable 'Use order entry hot keys'.

                            Your order entry hot keys should now work. Let us know if this is not the case.

                              Clearing the P/L of the (Sim) DOM/Commision

                              Hi Support team,

                              Almost all prior problems solved with your great help.

                              2 more questions. Keep you guys (and maybe girls) busy.

                              This morning I did a lot of backtesting on the Sim Data feed recorder.
                              Made a lot of profit.. But when I connected to Zenfire to trade SIM on Wallstreet, the P/L stayed in the Dom. Is there a way to clear these fake results from the Sim Recorder just to start clear again?

                              Is it possible to add the commisions on the Acc performance overwiew?
                              I filled in an average commission price of $5 for Zenfire under Options/Commisoion, but it does not show (yet).

                              Any suggestion?

                                1) You can reset your simulation account. Resetting a simulation account will clear all historical trade data from this account. Please follow the instructions below to reset a simulation account.
                                • From the NinjaTrader Control Center window select the menu Tools > Options
                                • Select the "Simulator" tab
                                • Press the "Reset" button


                                2) I am including instructions on how to properly add commissions to your PnL calculations. Please note that commissions will not apply to trades executed before you had your commissions setup. There is no way to apply the commissions to your previously executed trades. All trades moving forward will calculate your commissions after configuring this option.

                                Commission can be included in your PnL calculations provided you have correctly configured NinjaTrader. Commission values can be defined for each connectivity provider per instrument and per instrument type.
                                Commission values are used in the following order:
                                • From the instrument if a commission value has been defined else
                                • From the instrument type if a commission value has been defined else
                                • No value is used since none have been defined

                                Please follow the instructions below to define commission values per instrument type:
