    saving historical data

Hi, I started using NinjaTrader with ZenFire recently, at this point I am able to chart ES 03-10 and 12-09, nothing from earlier. As the time goes I'll be able to look back to all the charts till 12-09 or it always be the current and the last contract only? If that's how it works is there a way to save the data for future testing?

    Thanks for the help

    Hello t_mac15,

    Thank you for your post.

In order to access contracts prior to 12-09, you will need to change the date on your PC's clock to another year.

For example, rolling the PC's clock back to 2008 would let you access contracts as far back as 12-07.

I just tried what you said, change my pc's clock, back to 2009 and 2008, restarted NT, restarted cpu, still when I want to load the chart ie ES 12-08 or YM 09-08 from the new chart option it says [error] you need to select an instrument, when from a chart its [error]: invalid instrument name.

        Hi t_mac15,

        Thank you for your reply.

You will need to add the prior contracts to your default instrument list before trying to access them.

To do so, please follow the steps listed here: http://www.ninjatrader-support.com/H...RemoveFromList

hi i'm trying to chart TF 09-08 with the same method (worked with YM-ES-EMD-NQ) but the chart is empty. I tried ER 09-08 then the message is that ER is not supported

                Hi t_mac,

When charting the TF 09-08 can you please make sure that you have formatted the data series so that you are viewing the correct dates that correspond to the contract's trading months.

                      hi
i m trying to chart the same contract again but it just wont work. it s TF 09-08, the date on my PC is 08/13/2008, i m trying to see a chart from 06/25/2008 to 08/13/2008. Yet all I see is from 08/04 to 08/13. When I change the instrument on the chart (from the scroll down menu of default inst. list) to EMD 09-08 I have the entire 7 weeks straight away.
                      thanks for the help

                        Hello t_mac15,

                        Thank you for your post.

Which data provider are you using with NinjaTrader?

In what interval are you charting?

                          I'm using Zen fire.
Trying to have a 3min 24hr chart. Was able to do it for the same period with ES-YM-NQ-EMD 09-08

                              Hi t_mac15,

                              Thank you for your reply.

                              Please take the following steps:

From the Control Center, click Tools > Historical Data > Delete.

In the delete menu, select TF 09-08.
Please delete all data for the full period of this contract in each interval.

Next, connect to Zen-Fire, open a new TF 09-08 chart and let me know if the issue persists.
