    Zenfire price updates issues

    Hi,
    For last couple of days I have noticed that I don't get price feed for CL(Nymex Crude) contract from 1200 hrs gmt to 13:00hrs gmt theen price feed starts automatically after that. While during this period I am able to get price feed for other contracts like YM, ES.

    Another query, I was told zenfire feed doesn't support historical data but I am able to download 1 sec historical data for upto last 10 days. Could you please confirm how firm the zen historical data goes back upto?

    Please see the link below for trading hours as per the CL.
    CME Group is the world's leading and most diverse derivatives marketplace offering the widest range of futures and options products for risk management.


    Electronic trading is conducted from 6:00 PM until 5:15 PM via the CME Globex® trading platform, Sunday through Friday.

    So there is no data from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM US Eastern Time. This would be 12:15 GMT - 13:00 GMT.

    Historical tick and minute data is supported when connected to Zen-Fire. Unfortunately I am not sure how much historical data is exactly available; I suggest to test this on your end.

      But I get the price feed for CL during that time when dirctly using zen api.

        I am not sure why you do receive data at these times; I suggest to contact Zen-Fire for clarification then.

          actually 5:15 Pm est is not 12:15 gmt. So it got to be something else.

            You are correct. My apologies I calculated the other way around. You refer to London time with GMT, right?

            Do you see any errors in the Log-tab around 12:00 and 13:00?

              No. But I was getting the price feed for CL when I connected from different computer. Other system XP. And the system it doesn't work on is vista.

                What happens if you close the current NinjaTrader window that has the CL selected and open up a new one via File-->New? Do you receive real-time data?

                Do you receive real-time data if you select the CL in the Control Center during those times?

                  This issues has become frequent now and happens to other products as well than CL. I close and reopen nt couple of times and then I start getting all the price updates.
                  No price updates in control centre or chart but it does download historical and updates the chart.

                    Hello morphtrade,

                    Is the issue still limited to the Vista PC only? Does it use the same internet connection as the XP PC?

                    When you tested it on the XP PC, did you have the same amount of windows opened as the Vista PC?

                    Does it make any difference if you reduce the amount of windows in your NinjaTrader setup on the Vista PC?

                    Check if you are running workspaces in the background (these will request data & resources as well) and close them. Can you please restart NinjaTrader and go to File-->Workspaces and check what workspaces are listed below 'Save Workspace As'. The workspace with the checkmark is the workspace opened on your monitor. Any additional workspaces listed, are opened in the background.

                    Select a workspace without a checkmark and subsequently go to File-->Workspaces-->Close Workspace. Repeat this process until only one workspace is opened.

                    Check if the issue persists if you run only 2 charts in the workspace with and without indicators.

                      It occurs on XP as well. And I have been observing it for last couple of days it's a random issue. It goes away after I restart nt couple of times. Yes, I do have a default workspace which contains few charts with indicators.

                        Are you referring to the XP PC or did you install XP on the Vista PC?

                        Do you have any software running on your PC that might be interfering connectivity, such as firewalls, spyware and anti-virus software?

                        If the issue occurs on both PC's, can you tell me if both PC's connect to the internet the same way.

                        Ok, but does it make a difference if you reduce resource request of NinjaTrader?

                          Hi,
                          I believe this zen fire issue is to do with Windows XP as I have just installed new windows XP on different machine and facing the same issue of no live price updates even though zen-fire is connected and green. I have to disconnect and connect few time before I start getting live price updates.
                          On windows server and vista there is no such issue.

                              Yes, they both connect to internet same way. I tried closing the workspace and then connect and still didn't get live price updates.
