eSignal rejects username & password

    eSignal rejects username & password

    Hi,

    I have been using eSignal successfully for several months, along with InteractiveBrokers, trading live until today, when I uninstalled NT in order to purge some corrupt script.

    After reinstalling NT, I used the wizard in Tools to setup Account Connections with eSignal as before putting in my username and password.

    But now when I go to connect I get an error message saying that the password and username are rejected.

    I asked eSignal support, which confirmed the password etc and said these are the only possible entries.

    At times when connecting to eSignal, the panel stays grayed out and I can neither connect nor disconnect.

    My charts do not have live data and the back test fails to work as well.

    Any thoughts much appreciated.

    Thank you for your post.

    Can you please try rebooting your PC and test the connection again?


    If the issue persists, please try the following:
    1.) Remove your connection: Tools --> Account connections --> (your created connection) --> remove.
    2.) Repair your database: Tools --> Options --> Misc --> Repair DB.
    3.) Restart NinjaTrader and create a new connection using the connection guide: http://www.ninjatrader.com/webnew/su...tionguides.htm

      I'll follow your instructions.

      Meantime, it occurs to me that I may not be connecting because I failed to remove the eSignal service address to which I do not subscribe, such as news and level II.

      Still, I can not removed the grayed out eSignal connecting message, so I'll close down the program and reboot, as you suggest.

        It worked

        Thanks, it worked.

        I repaired the database through options/msc and then reset the connection with eSignal and the data and charts are working.

          --> Yes. Please make sure you remove any fields that you are not subscribed to as well.
