NT7 Release questions

Beta

Well, let's be perfectly clear here: for some of us newbies, who have been around since the latter part of last year, NEVER did I hear the word Beta uttered until just recently. Sure, it may have been clear to some here on the forum, but I have saved emails FROM NT that do not say beta and those emails go back months ago.

I was told by a trading buddy last year that NT was not working all that well for him even when he upgraded his entire computer with the maximum memory possible in his configuration. He finally migrated away and in fact did ask for a refund of his lifetime "donation" for his license and I do not know what happened.

However, I have not found a better way to enter orders. One of my bigger complaints revolves around Bracket order entries (cumbersome, and not intuitive and takes too many steps) as well as overriding an ATM strategy on the fly....another incredibly obvious area for improvements.

Let's hope that some of these issues are resolved and then let's look forward to unanticipated enhancements.

They do this to keep the customer hopeful and hanging around and we do because Ninja has some fantastic features that we have come to depend on. There are alternatives to Ninja out there though and people get angry when they realize they might ultimately be waiting around for nothing and that perhaps they should have changed to a competing product a long time ago.

From my point of view, NT7 is just taking longer than expected. Nothing more or less.

Yeah that did sound like my frustration was getting the better of me.
Thanks for the link to a vent site Zoltran, that is a good idea.

This is a perfect place for me to say that I have always been very impressed with what the Ninja team allows to be posted here on THEIR forum. They do not use a heavy hand in deleting posts and seem more than willing to take the heat. You have to respect Ray and the entire crew for that.

Gains, I agree. Plus, even though they do not take phone calls, Ray and the crew are FAST in replies...most of the time faster than I anticipated they would do so.

This is great service. Put that service in play with a GREAT improved NT 7.0 and I will be a lifer.

Yes. That is correct. However, the incomplete beta announcement due today will be released to partners only at this stage. Any announcement to the public will announced at a later announcement :-)

I'm just kidding of course and adding a bit of humor here. We're all ears in anticipation. I'm sure Ray won't disappoint us now.

Thank you Ray,

Tabs have been suggested so many times, will they be implemented on NT7? this makes navigation so much easier.

If so, please implement a keyboard shortcut to go from tab to tab.

also, it would be very nice to be able to change an atm strategy directly from the chart trader....especially "mid stream" - meaning while in the middle of a trade....

why not have a more buttons along the top of the chart to change from one template to another, to quickly add a study, etc....

Please consider a "duplicate chart" feature.

faster and more efficient navigation is a must... thanks

Can you please explain what steps are being taken to ensure the September 09 date doesn't follow the same pattern of past target dates.

I'm not trying to pick on you or make life difficult, I'm trying to make a business decision on whether I should move my focus to another product that I'm currently evaluating.

Well, not completely unexpected... as I thought, things were obviously behind schedule due to the complexity of the code. The main point seems to be that they will now be more transparent with regards to development, which is a step in the right direction. Ray, please try to honor this promise and keep us updated more accurately and frequently with regards to progress... we don't want be told in September that it's now going to be 2010 before a beta is released, if you know what I mean. The minute you know if it's getting pushed back, we would appreciate knowing that. Thanks!

The difference this time is...

- We are forecasting based on being nearly 100% complete with feature implementation so what is left is some more peformance profiling, testing and bug resolution
- The end of September is not a hard date, we hope to deliver prior to that but what I will do is provide updates every two weeks as to our status and adjust the target date if needed

That is my intent and I really hope that it will not be pushed back... I think we are far enough along. The only unknown is the unknown at this point in time.

Chart tabs are on our list and at this time, its not on our committed list but is at the top of a feature we could pull in if we have a spare development resource pre-beta.
