denimkaty , there is no screenshot attached to your post. Also, can you provide answers to the questions you've quoted?
-
i have tried downloading data using the historical data download and also reloading data on the chart. Today the same thing happened with the ES-09. How can I fix this? I have attached a screen cap with the NQ chart and the data in the Historical Data Manager. I get the same chart and prices regardless of time frame.Originally posted by NinjaTrader_PatrickG View PostSo I may accurately assist you, please answer all of the following questions:- What version of NinjaTrader 7 are you using? Please provide the entire version number. This can be found under Help -> About (Example: 7.0.1000.?)
- What version of TWS/Gateway are you using?
- Do you receive an error on screen? Are there errors on the Log tab of the Control Center? If so, what do these errors report?

I would not expect that any shortcut could lead to an older version once you followed my steps above. I would suggest that you remove those shortcuts and use the working shortcuts.

Well Egg on face...After installing version 7.0.1000.40, I assumes all shortcuts would launch this version. I had a shortcut on my taskbar than when clicked launcehd version 7.0.1000.35. This was causing the issue. when I click on the desktop icon, everything is now working. Is it expected behavior that the old version would stil exist on my computer? How can I be sure the Old version is deleted?Last edited by stalt; 08-21-2019, 01:57 PM.

The symptom I believe is occurring is incoming information from Interactive Brokers TWS is actually changing the tick size of instruments which is the root cause of the charting issue and also the log messages. We haven't seen this occur with the supported version of TWS which is what you've provided a screenshot of.
I'd like to troubleshoot this via email so we can gather more specific information:- Open Windows File Explorer (hotkey = Windows key + E) Then navigate to, "Documents" (sometimes called, "My Documents") > 'NinjaTrader 7' folder
- Right click on the 'log' and 'trace' folders and select Send To> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
- Send the 2 compressed folders as attachments in an email to PlatformSupport[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com
- Please reference the following ticket number in the body of the email: 2250899 ATTN PatrickG
- Once complete, you can delete these compressed folders.

This symptom is known to occur if you're not using the supported version of TWS. Can you provide a screenshot from TWS which confirms the version number?

Interactive Brokers has notoriously slow historical data servers. That may be contributing to the loading time. Can you provide a screenshot of what is now occurring after the update and instrument reset? Also can you confirm that you did perform the instrument reset (not just the update)?

OK I've don all the steps above. NQ seems to have corrected as the price is moving in the SuperDOM. The chart is still loading historical data, so I am not sure. ES though is still the same and the SuperDOM is not moving. IT is just sitting at 2919. Volume is showing though.

The key you enter does not actually affect your download, so if you have a valid key you may use that.
I would also recommend reaching out to PlatformSales[AT]NinjaTrader[DOT]com so they may provide you with a valid/updated key.

First, I see that you're running an older and unsupported version of NinjaTrader 7. The newer version contains many critical updates to the database. Please update NinjaTrader 7 and reset your instruments:
To update NinjaTrader, please follow the steps below:- First get your license key from NinjaTrader under Help> License Key then exit NinjaTrader
- Click on the link: http://ninjatrader.com/PlatformDirect
- Enter your license key and press Submit
- Select 'NinjaTrader 7'
- Select 'Download'
- Critical: Before running the installer, ensure NinjaTrader is closed.
Lastly, to reset your instruments, please follow the steps below:- Disconnect from your data feed: NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Disconnect> Select your data feed
- Reset your Instruments: NinjaTrader Control Center> Tools> Options> Data tab> Reset Instruments>OK
- Restart NinjaTrader> Connect (NinjaTrader Control Center> File> Connect> Select your connection
