    indicator of an indicator

    Hello,
    I'm trying to create a 10 period ROC of a 10 period SMA. As part of the code I have:
    double average = SMA(10)(ROC(Period))[0];
    This isn't compiling. Can someone give me some ideas?
    Thanks

    Hello CaptainAmericaXX,

    Thank you for your post.

    Which is to be the input for the other? ROC is the input for the SMA or SMA is the input for ROC?

    So are you looking for the SMA of the ROC or the ROC of the SMA?

    I look forward to your response.

      PatrickH,
      Thanks for the reply. I got this idea from a friend and tried to put it together. I'm not sure which is the input. I do know that the SMA is to smooth the ROC. Does that help? I tried interchanging SMA and ROC in the code and got the same errors.

        Hello CaptainAmericaXX,

        Thank you for your response.

        You would use the following syntax:
        Code:
        double average = SMA(ROC(Period), 10)[0];
