    Coding : Which way uses less performance ?

    Hi,

    i have to understand some basic coding things -
    please tell me - if i realize something like this :

    if
    (ElliotOscillator(Fast, Slow)[0] > a_Level )

    {
    BackColor = Color.Firebrick;
    }

    if
    (ElliotOscillator(Fast, Slow)[0] < - a_Level )

    {
    BackColor = Color.Firebrick;
    }

    Is it usefull to replace the 2-times ((ElliotOscillator(Fast, Slow)[0] ) with for example
    double EOvalue = (ElliotOscillator(Fast, Slow)[0];
    and use the EOvalue instead of the full term (ElliotOscillator(Fast, Slow)[0]) ?
    Or is it the same in performance usage.

    ThanX for an info

    It is more efficient to hold the value in a local variable than to call the method multiple times.

      OK,

      would you recommend the way with a local variable also for terms like this ?

      if (x == true && y == true)
      { .....

      this would be maybe like

      bool cond1 = x == true && y == true

      + then
      if (cond1 )
      { .....

        No, that's redundant.
