CCI Pattern Recognition for Woodies

Thanks for this indicator. I have just started using recently, but noticed that it only appears to display the setups on RANGE Bar charts. My usual preferred time frame is Tick-based, but the indicator does not seem to flag anything with tick charts.

So is this only to be used exclusively with RANGE Bar charts ?

This indicator works only for range bars, since only range bar's high and lows can be projected.

Woodies CCI indicator reference

Anyone seen a reference as to what the different colors plotted on the 0,100,200 line are, and the numbers in the Woodie panel mean?
ie: like the sidewinder is plotted on the 200 line (if that is where it shows up) etc.

The only thing that matters is the color of CZI , SW, or LSMA. They are placed on 0, 100, and 200 lines as a convenience.

Alerts from CCI Pattern Recognition with Market Analyser

Hi,

Can anyone help or direct me to some reading please.....

I am using the rather wonderful CCI Pattern Recognition indicator and it works very well - however I wish to use it within Market Analyser on multiple instruments so I can get alerts for the patterns from several instruments (30+) - I simply don't know how (or if ) I can get this working - any suggestions or advice would be very welcome.

I know how to create my Market Analyser symbol list etc and select the indicator but I can't get it to alert so they show in the Alert Manager window ?

I should say I am new to NT - only 3 weeks so far !

Thanks I read this and this only covers numerical alerts - the alerts in this indicator generate characters or message strings, I am assuming from within the script (I don't know much about programming - as I assume you can easily see).

I simply (!) want all the alerts to work in Market Analyser that currently work fine when I use the indicator on a chart....

Tom, we would unfortunately not be familiar enough with the indicator you use, I hope some of the more advanced users of it would share their take on your question here. The strings it prints on the charts would per default not be showing in the MA though.

Unless I am mistaken, as per usual, you can only access indicator plots through the MktA, not DataSeries, BoolSeries, StringSeries, etc.. The Patterns are not plots, but a StringSeries. Hence, they are inaccessible through MktA.

Hi Snaphook,

Thank you for the reply - I have just begun to use your great work (many thanks for developing) to alert me of possible triggers in conjunction with other alerts (I use it over a vast range of symbols hence why I need MA to help )- I think it depends how the indicators are written - as you can easily use some indicators with strings in MA and some not - sadly I know little of programming.

I was simply hoping someone had been using it like me and have split out the alerts or modified your code so its MA friendly.

If it works for me, I guess I'll need to pay someone to make it do what I need - thanks again.

I understand The Woodie is switching to Median Renko Bars. Any interest? Sidewinder0? etc.

Are there any new developments with the Median Renko Bars/Woodie Bars? Any new developments with the use of CCI 4 Range Bar indicator or the Forecaster SS Test indicator with the the Median Renko Bars/Woodie Bars or the regular Price Bars? Thanks in advance.

Hi thomask, if you're interested in simple alerts for when patterns form on various charts/markets you run then go into the wcci pattern recognition panel and assign a custom sound file to the market. I go to AT&T sound labs site and create sound files which I load onto my pc. So, I have a British lady alerting me of CL patterns forming (i.e. "CL Pattern forming"), an American gent alerting me of TF patterns etc. Or just grab sound files from the web.

steveg, I would be interested too. The range bars plus trend and trend changing patterns aren't working as well in the current volatile markets. It's the markets and definitely no disrespect to snaphook whose indicators are awesome.

A minor comment on CCI_Forecaster. When selecting "Sldeway Show ?" to "False", the text "SIDEWAYS MARKET" still shows on the chart. I don't care for showing sideways so I have commented out the "sideways market" in the draw statements in the code. Would be nice if both the pattern and the text can be integrated so that none of them show if "fase" is elected.

woodies cci projector

Hello, I am new here but dealing with woodies CCI for about 3 years.

I have question if somebody have projector for cci forecastor which will show possible entry values (price, and CCI difference and indication if trade will be on top or botom of the bar). This feature was avaiable for NT 6.5 under desertsoft software but it is not supporting NT7 any more.
